## **TRUSTEES**
Since the last report, there has been a change of trustees. Anne Brough resigned the position and Laura Finney and Sophie Clover have taken up the position, having worked closely for several months with the charity , It was deemed appropriate that they take up the positions of trustees having such a close working knowledge of the rescue and it’s workings.
## **VOLUNTEERS**
We currently have a number of volunteers working with the charity in addition to Gill, Laura and Sophie. Jonathan Slatter continues his role in admin but the roles have been better defined to enable more effective and timely processes.
At the time of this report, we have 7 people in admin, 6 in a fundraising capacity and 2 dedicated to managing our social media.
## **OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES**
During this period, we have successfully had 20 dogs adopted
10 came into UK foster
7 went from foster to adoption
From Romania we actively rescued no further dogs but have supported the fosters there with 20 castrations carried out. We have, in addition, supported the building of and maintenance of kennels and cages for the dogs we support there, paying workers to
care for them, the purchase of dog food and veterinary treatments. We have, in addition to the work with our shelters, we have also supported them in taking dogs both from the kill shelter environment and the streets.
We maintain close links with the shelters through in-person visits to Romania in order to monitor the on-going work and provide additional photos, videos for our social media but also to gain a greater insight as to each dogs bio in order that we provide maximum valuable information for prospective adopters/fosters
We have, as a small charity met our objectives in supporting the shelters and in bringing as many dogs to UK foster and adoption as possible.
## **ACHIEVEMENTS**
As a charity we have grown both in support and the recruitment of volunteers in a number of roles, bound only by their dedication to saving dogs from Romania and wishing to place them in loving UK homes. We have introduced policies and procedures in order to steamline our activities and ensure the approach to each task is as coordinated as possible and we offer as professional a service as is expected.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of Pennypaws Rescue charity number 1200959 (the Charity) for the period ended 1 April 2025.
## **Respective Responsibilities and Basis of Report**
The trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (the Act).
I report in respect of my examination of the accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under Section 145 (5)(b) of the Act.
## **Independent Examiners Statement**
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:
- The accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act or
- The accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or
- The accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a “true and fair” view which is not a matter considered as part of the independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
