Chair’s Report
2024 was an interesting year of consolidation and development for Corsham Connections. We are proud of our achievements: a committed Board of Trustees, enthusiastic Connectors, a respected website directory of services and new funding. We are very grateful for all our volunteers whose many talents which have made a valued contribution this year. So thank you to all.
At the last AGM we announced our intention to develop closer links with the Corsham area community. This has successfully begun and continues into this coming year. We have received a steady flow of enquiries (26 in 2024) which are increasingly self-referrals.
We have trained 14 new Connectors this year, and continue to recruit as life events and circumstances inevitably result in a turnover. Their time and enthusiasm is an encouragement to all; thank you.
Financially we are secure for the time being. We are extremely grateful for the very generous donations from local organisations to enable us to operate effectively. For example, last year the donation from the Methuen Trust enabled us to invest in our own equipment for training and presentations.

This coming year will see continued integration with community activities, recruitment of volunteers from occupational volunteer services from local businesses and finding potential clients by door-to-door visiting and pop-up cafés. We are also hoping to develop a new online record system and develop the Connector Forum which supports our volunteers. We have established a free Membership scheme with a view to a social in the near future.
2025 will also include the appointment of a new Trustee. Skills we seek are in organising, publicity and IT in particular, and if you think you can help with any of the areas mentioned above, we would be delighted to hear from you.
Thank you.
