The Charity was set up by Mr John Lurkins, who purchased the land  known as Chedgrave Carr from a local land owner, and John also made the main financial contribution to get things started. 

The purpose of the the Charity is to provide a green open space that can be accessed by the local community to enjoy the wildlife , flora and fauna already established in the Carr, and John being disabled himself was keen to establish a fishing platform on the river Chet that can be used by disabled people. 

All the trustees  are volunteers and we meet every 6/7 weeks, agendas and minutes are recorded. 

Unfortunately John was taken seriously ill towards the end of June and tragically he passed away on  the 9th July 

It took a long time  to get the bank arrangements changed and the end result was that very little happened by the end of 2023.
