## **REPORT OF THE CHAIR AND TREASURER:**

The committee is made up of parent volunteers who work closely with the school to raise funds that directly benefit the pupils of Balshaw Lane Primary School.

During the year, the committee worked closely with Head Teacher Ms Helen Gregson until her departure in December 2024. The committee would like to extend its sincere thanks to Ms Gregson for her support and contribution to the PTFA during her tenure. From January 2025, the committee welcomed the incoming Head Teacher, Mrs Catherine Hodgson, and looks forward to continuing a positive and collaborative working relationship.

The committee has continued to benefit from the support of parents, carers, school staff and volunteers who generously give their time to help organise and run events throughout the year. Their contribution remains invaluable to the success of the PTFA.

The year has been a particularly successful one financially. Total donations and fundraising income exceeded £25,000 for the first time, reaching £27,545. This is a fantastic achievement for the PTFA and reflects the continued support of our school community.

During the year, the PTFA invested £13,474 back into the school through a range of projects, resources and activities for pupils. The largest investment was the installation of the new Outdoor Reading Shelter, alongside funding for reading books, educational visits, EYFS resources and improvements to the school environment.

Despite this significant investment, the charity generated a net surplus of £2,621, increasing reserves to £10,571 at the year end and ensuring funds remain available to support future school projects.

The committee would also like to thank the local businesses, corporate supporters and members of the wider community who contributed through sponsorships and donations during the year. Their generosity helped maximise the funds available to support the school and its pupils.

The committee would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all volunteers, parents, staff and supporters who gave their time to organise, run and support events throughout the year. Their continued support remains vital to the success of the PTFA.

## **GENERAL REVIEW:**

The committee remained committed to putting the FUN into FUNDRAISING and delivered a varied and well-supported programme of events across the academic year. Alongside established favourites, several new initiatives were introduced during the year.

The **Colour Run** proved to be the highlight of the year, bringing together pupils, families and staff for a fun-filled community event. The event attracted fantastic sponsorship, excellent participation and a brilliant atmosphere, making it both a memorable experience and a significant fundraising success.

The committee also introduced a **Silent Disco** , providing a more inclusive and neurodiversityfriendly event for pupils. The event was extremely well received and has provided a valuable addition to the PTFA calendar.

A new **School Uniform Initiative** was launched during the year, sourcing and selling brand new school uniform to parents at reduced prices. The scheme has helped support families with affordability whilst generating additional income for the school.

Feedback from events held throughout the year has continued to be overwhelmingly positive. The committee aims to maintain a diverse and balanced programme of activities, ensuring there is a mixture of fundraising events, family activities and opportunities for the wider school community to come together.

The committee will continue to review and refresh events where appropriate, building on successful new initiatives introduced this year whilst retaining the events that remain popular with pupils and families.
