Our committee work c105ety with the Head Teacher Ms Gre850n and the witler staff body tu help us

6,1MJO was raised towards an outdoor readin8 shelter. The committee haw agreed to put this sum
towards the project whlch irbcludes an outdoor vco garden for which the school were awarded a
5.(M pro orant. The commfftee alonggde schoo1 staff were in agreement ihat the School would
benefii frpm the two prolects bein8 combined with ihe shelter providing è dual use readinK shelthf
torthe children at break times and an outdoor class room space as part of the eco projert. This is
currently ￿￿th school plannin8 and CO￿1n8$. This sum will remain in our reserve fund5 unttl
required.
GENERAL REVIEW:
The Committee have received poslti¥e feedback from the events held thi5 yeai. The committee aim to
arrange a diverse rdn8e ot even15 spread evenly throughout ihe terms to include those evenls for
children only and those to enjoy with tliEir lamilie5. Events include ihose which arv synonymous with
Balshaw Lane's hisiory such is school dis¢os, bin80, Christmas biscuits and the annual summer fair
alongs￿e new e¥ents which have been introduced to enga8emeni and enjoymeni hlgh.

which the¥ aim to publish with the wider sthool community to ensure upfronr comrnunicarion and
onable forward plannin8 for our farnilie5, Tho c(¥nnrtee recognise that school life takè.s procedonre
and that thi5 (an someD"mes lead to late changes but hope ihat lorward planning can negate this.
The committee aim to or8anise 3 events pef torm. The month of seple.mbef is generally a￿￿ded to
allow parents and G)rer5 to settle back into ihe school routs.ne and nots'ng that parent5 will have
fundèd new uniforms and school shoes which are expen54vp.. The month of July is geneTrlly avoidèd
to allow dedi￿gn to our Veat 6 Leavers artivityÈS. The committèe do try and provide suitable laps

as not to overllp with thè Year 6 Leavers activitie5.

In addition, the Sponsored Bounce whlch ralsed MO￿leS specthcally for an outdiK>r re￿1￿8 shelter
receivpd huRe 5UPPOrt and the feedback from the childfen was wholly positive. The committee agree
by mojonty thot èn annual sponsored o¥ent should feature in the event5 calendar. A Bo8-Eyed 108 or
Colouf Fun Run have been pui lorward and will be considered as possible future events.
The committee face the continual Challenge of maintaining affordable event5 to remain a5 inclusive
as possible, balanced against increa5in8 Costs and expenses. A decision wa5 agreed by majorty vott
to increase tho ￿cket entry Costs to 3.00 for OLbr Coronatlon Dlsco. Thls dedsion was taken after
noticing that our nei8hbourin8 schools char8e in excess of our standard 2.5D nckot price, which has
remained the same at Balshaw Lane for oyyer 7 ￿arS in Ihe face of f15ing cosls. The change was met
with little resistsince and a genefal appreciatlon fnf how we strlve to keep our charge5 as low as
possSble. Thls change enabled u5 to keep the costs of actlvltles withln the discos themselves th•
samè to enable partlclpan.on by all.

calendar of future events. pthde detalls of monles raised and the equlpment and aaivities it has
funded. This will airn to provide parent5 and the wider school communilv W¢th ireaier rransparenry,
7*hich in turn should lead to better engagement between the PTFA and wider school iommunity in
advancing the charitable objective5 of the ar8anisation. Earlier communication of event5 will ensure
that carers and parents (an torward plan which could lead to better support and event attendance.

others. The committee reco8nise that they 3re fortunate to have the support of a learn of gene￿$
