Trustees report for the period – 01/05/2024 to 30/04/2025
The objectives of the charity remain unchanged. They are:

To support schools in the Ashanti Region of Ghana improve (where they exist)

toilet facilities and in building new ones where required.

To support schools in Ghana with their work on hygiene and health issues
-
linked with the provision of toilets.
Committee meetings follow a three-monthly schedule, and the AGM is open to all members.
Charity Activities
In the reporting period trustees have continued with the fundraising campaign. This entailed:
- i. The continued use of a crowd funding platform ii. Direct appeals to friends, family, ex-colleagues, and other associates. iii. Ongoing discussions/consultations with supportive individuals and organisations.
The construction of a toilet block in Ejisu Primary School has commenced and allowing for the occasional unexpected building complication, has made good progress. The block has been completed, and the children have for the first time, a quality functional toilet facility. They can now use the toilets in safety with girls having much needed privacy.
Additionally, staff now have on-site toilets. These are integral to the main block but with separate access for the adults.
The Trustees have fulfilled their commitment to raise sufficient funds to build much needed toilets for the children and staff in this school. This achievement has been welcomed and appreciated by the children, staff, parents, and the wider village community.
The Trustees have now identified two more schools that do not have toilets for their children and staff. Plans are in place to continue with a fundraising campaign to achieve this. This is Phase 2 - in keeping with the objectives of L4L. Progress on this phase will be reported fully in the next reporting cycle.
