We have ascertained that a great many people access the church servlce by th15 means every week. The Ilnk to access It Is htt camlive.com st eters eterstonsel Church Servlce$ Our return to 'face to face, Church 5ervlces ft)Ilowlng the pandemlc has seen a sll8ht decrease In attendance. Each Church normally has a Eucharlst Servlce every Sunday1St Marfs, Bonvllston has a famlly Servlce on the flrst Sunday of the month and Holy Eucharlst on the thlrd Sunday). St Peterfs, Peterston-super-Ely has introduced an evenlng or afternoon (In winter month51 choral 5ervlce, usually on the last Sunday of the month where one In three servlces Is Choral Evenson8. A mld-week Holy Eucharlst Is held every Wednesday at noon in 5t Peterfs wlth an average attendance of 8. In Lent there is an additional noon Eucharist at Llancarfan. On the fifth Sunday of the month there 15 just one service In the EVMA at 10.30, with each church hostln8 the servlce Sn turn. Thls servlce Is popular and usually attended by around 35 people.

The Cter8y We are grateful for the support. both In practlcal and pastoral terms, of our excellent clergy team. Father Kevin retlred in December 2023. Rev. Amanda, our self-supportingAssistant Curate was ordained prlest in June. At the same time. we werejolned by Father Peter Watson, part time. We are also fortunate to have been allocated Rachel Petley for the duratlon of her three-year training as an Ordlnand. Children's Ministry The clergy are regularly involved In school worshlp sesslon5 wlth our Church in Wales primary schools (St Nicholas. Pendoylan and Peterston-super-Ely). °Open the Book" has been introduced an all three schools on a regular basls involvlng the dramatlzatlon of Blble stories, with a Team Including cler8y and lay people. There is also a family worshlp servlce based In Pendoylan school on the second Sunday of the month, which is well attended. Father Mlchael Introduced "Llfe Path" in Llancarfan In June, involvln8 year 5 chlldren from all our church schoo15 In explorlng the1Sves of monks. Thls wlll be repeated In 2024. However, It has been difficult to en8a8e famllles In the regular worshlp and Ilfe of the church outslde the school day. Certaln 5peclal servlces, such as the Pet Blesslng ServSce at St Peterfs and Crlb servlce5, are well attended but have not resulted In any firm commitment by famllles to regular worshlp. In July, Rachel organlsed a YNalkln' Talkln, Natter Hatter afternoon In Peterston, whlch was attended by Blshop Mary and many local famllies durlngwhlch the Communlty Orchard was blessed and an afternoon tea was enjoyed by all. In September, a second Famlly Eco event took place at St Illtyd's Church, LlantrSthyd, whlch attracted a number of families. The envlronment Is a Subject close to the heart of many school chlldren and, wlth the opportunlty to take part In varlous craft actlvltles, seed plantln& etc. as well as a 8eneral tldy-up of the churchyard, It was an excellent opportunlty to encourage 'carln8 for God's creation. It Is hoped to contlnue these events, movln8 around dlfferent churches in the EVM varylng the themes and formats so asto engage wlth as manyfamllles as posslble. The Electoral Roll The total number on the Electoral Roll forthe EVMA Ss 163 wlth the numbers for each church as follows: St Dunwyd, WSD 5t Cadoc's, Llancarfan St Illtyd's, Llantrithyd St Brlde's St Cadods Pendoylan St Nicholas St Marfs Bonvllston St Peterfs, Peterston-super-Ely 15 30 li 14 15 17 io 51

Church Bulldlngs and Faculties granted St Illtyd's, Llantrithyd has applied for and been granted faculties for weather-proofing the tower and replacing some 51ate louvres. Other faculty requests are pending. Most churdies are expettiDg thelr Idelayedl Quinquennial Inspection during 2024. Flnances The consolidated accounts for 2023 Show total unrestricted income of £139,037 and costs of £144,641. This meant that at the end of the year there was an unrestricted deficit of £5.604. There w45 a variation acr055 the churche5 With both St Peters and St Marys 5howlng a surplu5 for the year but all other churches recording a rieficlt. It is good to see signifiont levels of planned glving across the churches and the resulting Gtft Ald tax rebates. Our blggest cost was the Fairer Share payment to the di0￿Se towards the cost of our cler of £70,326 which is 49% of our total expenditure from unrestrirte'd funds. The other most slgnificant costs were electricity of £12,904, church maintenance and repalrs of £10,996 and church insurance of £6,993. At the end of the year the total unrestricted reserves were £290,302 which is a healthy position. However, again the posltion varies across the churches with some having qufce low levels of restricted reserves. It Is also Important to remember that we all have old bulldlng5 which requlre periodic costly maintenance which could quickly deplete those reSeTh￿S.
