Introduction
The objective of the Trustees’ annual report (the report) and accounts is to provide information/overview about Little Shining Lights’ activities, achievements, financial performance and position for the year ending March 2024. This report serves to ensure transparency, accountability, and reliability of financial performance.
Boarding of Trustees
The Board consists of diverse professionals with expertise in fields relevant to Little Shining Lights’ mission. Regular meetings are held to discuss progress and future plans.

Objectives and Activities
Our objectives
The CIO works for the public benefit having as its objects the provision of quality care and education of children by:

Promoting their care and safety

Promoting their education and promoting parental involvement

Promoting their health and wellbeing

Providing services to support them and their families and carers.
We aim to provide a caring, happy and stimulating environment for all children. We recognise the importance of staff, parents, carers and children working together in partnership to ensure the best possible start for all the children, as well as preparing them for their school lives.
Our vision is to deliver a positive Early Learning Experience to our children through a learning and development programme that is second to none. We specialise in giving individual care and attention in a familiar home from home environment. We promote independence through a nursery experience that will make a significant difference to your child’s future development.
Our activities
Little Shining Lights Nursery is a Christian base day nursery but cater for all regardless of their belief, our nursery values all the children as we aim to meet their individual needs. Charitable Purpose
Our mission is to advance education through initiatives that promote the public benefit by enhancing the quality of care and education for children.
Development/Achievements and Performance
The CIO commenced operations in March 2024 and ensured that all necessary requisite equipment and staffing were appropriately established. Advertisement were disseminated through the appropriate channels to promote the nursery.
Achievements against objectives set
The CIO was unable to meet the established objectives due to the absence of child placements for the accounting year spanning from April 2023 to March 2024.

Little Shining Lights faced several challenges during this reporting year, including increased operational costs and enrolment limitations as a result, the financial position was not as predicted.

Loans
Little Shining Lights was able to secure a start-up loan in the amount of £10,000 for this reporting period.
Trustees’ Remuneration and Expenses
No remuneration was paid directly or indirectly by Little Shining Lights to any of the trustees during this reporting year, and none of Little Shining Lights’ trustees received reimbursement of travel and subsistence costs.
Structure, Governance and Management
Little Shining Lights is led by a Board of Trustees responsible for governance and strategic direction. The operational aspects are managed by the nursery manager and other staff members.
Future Plans
Looking forward, Little Shining Lights aims to expand its reach by raising awareness within the community so new parents can learn more about programs as well improving existing initiatives activities to give prospective families a glimpse into what Little Shining Lights offers.
