PrayGo Trust – Trustees Annual Report for the period 1st April 2024 to
31st March 2025
PrayGo Trust is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), registered in England and Wales with the Charity Commission, registered number: 1200835; company number CE030538.
Purpose and background
PrayGo Trust uses technology to help people engage with prayer and connect with faith and community.
It was set up by our Chair, Rev Liz England, to support the development of the PrayGo smartphone app – designed to enable people everywhere to share prayer requests on a virtual map of their neighbourhood; and for others to post prayers in response. As well as promoting faith and enabling engagement with churches and Christian organisations, the app aims to help people connect with others in their community and bring benefits of being outdoors, overcoming isolation and being a positive influence on mental health.
Our charitable object is:
To advance the Christian faith for the public benefit by providing opportunities for prayer and connecting people with Christian communities through the provision of a prayer app / platform to enlighten others about the Christian faith.
Our Trustees
Our trustees are:
Rev Elizabeth England (Chair)
Emma Major
Rev Michael Fitzsimmons
Steve Savage
Rev Charlotte Gompertz
Rev Susan Round (Treasurer)
Changes to trustees
During the year, Rev Hilary Savage stepped down from the trustee board but is still involved and supporting the charity.
Activity
We are at an early stage of the charity and the development of the PrayGo app.
During the period we have been:
-
Raising funds through individual donations via crowdfunding and social media
-
Engaging with grant funding bodies and applying for grants
-
Raising awareness of the plans for the PrayGo app among churches, especially potential early users.
Public Benefit
In all our decisions and activities as trustees of PrayGo Trust, we believe we have had due regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance and our operation has been according to our governing document and our charity object (stated above).
Plans for next stage
We want to see this technology used to help more people connect through prayer with Christian faith and with others. The PrayGo app offers so many benefits once it is available.
We have been aware of the challenge of communicating the nature of the app to potential funders and will look for ways to show potential funders how the technology will work in order to enable them to catch the vision for what PrayGo can do.
We will also lay the groundwork for early adopters and testers.
Financial Accounts
Our accounts for the period are included separately.
Our banking has been with Lloyds Bank.
