Activities
This charity's mission is to unite and celebrate the diverse cultures of our local community through the arts, providing a broad range of cultural facilities in a fully accessible space and activities for the benefit of the public in Hackney and beyond. We aim to create a varied programme, with community as well as ticketed events to bring it within the reach of as many people as possible.
Objects: The Objects Of The CIO Are:1. To Advance Education In The Arts, Culture And Heritage, In Particular To Promote Drama Music, Other Performing Arts And The Arts Generally And To Maintain, Develop And Manage An Arts Centre And To Co-Operate With Any Other Bodies In The Maintenance And Management Of Such A Centre; And2. To Provide Or Assist In The Provision Of Facilities In The Interests Of Social Welfare For Recreation Or Other Leisure Time Occupation Of Individuals Who Have Need Of Such Facilities By Reason Of Their Youth, Age, Infirmity Or Disability, Financial Hardship Or Social Circumstances With The Object Of Improving Their Conditions Of Life.nothing In This Constitution Shall Authorise An Application Of The Property Of The CIO For The Purposes Which Are Not Charitable In Accordance With [Section 7 Of The Charities And Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005] And [Section 2 Of The Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008].
