The British Scoliosis Society aims to advance the treatment of patients with spinal deformity. This is achieved via scientific education of healthcare professionals and the public, and support of appropriate research in the field

Objects: The Objects Of The CIO Are, For The Public Benefit, The Advancement Of Health, Including By (But Not Limited To) The Following:(a) The Provision Of A Forum For The Study And Discussion Of The Origin, Natural History And Treatment Of Spinal Deformities And Disorders;(b) The Promotion Of Research And Development In The Field Of Spinal Deformities And Disorders And The Dissemination Of The Results Of Such Research; And(c) The Advancement Of Education And Awareness Amongst The Public, Medical Practitioners And Associated Professionals As To The Most Effective Methods Of Recognising, Preventing, Treating And/or Managing Spinal Deformities And Disorders.
