Purpose
This report constitutes the Annual Report and financial slatements for Aeron Arts for
the year ended 5th April 2025. It adopts the provisions ofAccounting and Reporting
by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practice in accordance with the Financial
Reporting Standards applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102)
effective from 1st January 2019.
Structure, Governance and Management
Aeron Arts was initially registered in February 2022 as a Charitable Incorporated
Organlsation (CIO) under the Assodation model. In January 2024 the Charity
Commisslon approved the transfer in status to the FourKlation model which better
suited its nature and now govems and ￿)ntrOlS the actions of the trustees. The
trustees oversee the provision of free creative arts and music workshops for children
and young people living in Ceredigion. particularly for those who are vulnerable or in
at-risk categories.

th8ir background, have aC￿sS to supportive and enriching creative opportunities.

Summary of Activities During 2024-25
During this reporting period free creative arts and music sessions were held on a
weekly basis after school, during time.
39 arts sessions took plac8 on Mondays covering areas such as printmaking.
sewing, painting, drawing and costume making. The average attendance was 18
wilh a range from 9 to 27 attendees.
28 music sessions t¢)ok pla￿ on Fridays where attendees sing, leam to play
ensemble music in a group and learn music theory. The average attendance was
11, with a range from 6 to 16 attendees.

Sesslons were led by an experienced and respected local artist, Natslie Chapman
and musician, Rory Chapman and were supported by qualified youth worker. Helen
Cotterill. AJI work for the charity on a sessional basis. A number of volunteers also
contrlbuted thelr support durfng this period. most notably Rebecca Wood as support
music tutor. Food and snacks were provided at all sessions. essential In this County
with the second h￿hest level of food poverty in Wales.
Aeron Arts, work was showcased in a number of events during the reporting year..
Over Easter 2024. the postcards produced in the art group were exhibited in the
town's art gallery. From Mach 2025 to the end of June he products of the idantity
project funded by the Police Comrnissioner were displayed in the RAY Ceredigion
offices, the community facllity where the V￿rkShopS are held. A social enterprise
has been established with a craft shop in the town to sell the craft work produced.

charity.
The young musicians performed in the Cross Inn pl￿1C in the Patk community
event In July 2024. In Feb 2025 lead music tutor, Rory Chapman, organis8d a
Valentlne's Ball for local young people. Held in the Feathers Royal Hotel,
Aberaeron our musicians, now perfoming as Soap, played a full set of covers
with decorations and a backdrop banner provided by the art group.
Aeron Arts also had a major presence at The Aberaeron RAY Play Day in August:
an Important annual event held In the town centre as part of the UK National Play
Day initiative. This included a fashion parade of recycled-repurposed clothing and
a set by the band. Filmed for an episoje of the tv series Weather Man Walking,
both tutors and young participants were interviewed and the programm8 was
broadcast in November.
During this period, we started regularly posting images of the workshops and events
on the Aeron Arts Facebook page: htt s.'Ilwww.facebook.comlAeronArts
Our projects and events are promoted this way and it also provides a platform to
thank funders for their support. Our young attend8es and their parents have given
approval that photographs of them can be used to promote the work of the charity
and for fundraising purposes.
Social media also provided the opportunity to run a public appeal in January for
unwanted musical instruments and equipment. The response was overwhelming.
allowing the charity to provide much needed instruments and kit giving us the
eapacty to take on more youngsters in the music sessions and to establish a loan
System so they can take instruments home for practice.
The inaugural chair resigned in August to concentrate on her role as creative lead.
Her passion for the arts and for bringing them to the most needy and vulnerable

young people had set the ethos for Aeron Arts and her work as co-founder of the
charrty had been pivotal to establishing and developing this much needed provision.
In her earfy months in post. the incoming Chair focussed on govemance
a￿angernentS. introducing a more appropriate constitution for a charty of Aeron Arts,
role and developing the s8t of policies outlined above. The incoming treasurer
established the financial systems and reporting arrangements needed to plan.
monitor and account for the chanty's expenditure and assets.
Funding was provided for most of the year through an Awards forAII Big Lottery
grant. This was supplemented by monies raised by Natalie through a sponsored
walk. The Aeron Lodge of the Masons provided a generous donation which allowed
the charity to operate for two months over the winter. R8cognising our contribution to
the reduction levels of youth anti-social behaviour in the town. the Office of the Dyf8d
Powys Police and Crime Commissioner approved a funding bid covering sessions in
February and March of this year.
Se8king sustainable long-temi funding remains the biggest dlallenge for tre charity.
