It is govemed by a CIO Constitution. Trustees for the charity are appointed annually at the AGM held in April each year. The trustees are responsible for the running of the dub and promoting its aims, managing the dubs fInanS and assets induding the record keeping of the accounts. Objectives The objective of the charity is to promote community parb"cipation in healthy recreation, for the benefit of the inhabitants of Baldock, Letchworth and the surrounding area by the provision of facilities for canoeing, kayaking and other forms of paddlesport. Activities
The club provided a full calendar of activities induding flat water and whitewater trips, beginners courses and coaching for paddler progression. Club activity includes kayaking and canoeing, local trips and trips further away with overnight stays. Weekly pool practice sessions are undertaken and once a month these indude Can polo practice. These sessions have also induded coaching sessions on topics such as rolling, rescue techniques. Achievements Ran a full calendar of trips with a minimum of one trip a month including surf,... whitewater and flat water paddles Ran weekly pool sessions, increasing the attendance on last year IntrodUd 26 people to kayaking running 7 beginners courses Increased the number of active paddlers within the club Qualified 3 new river leaders Hired the Lee Valley legacy course, introducing new paddlers to whitewater Ran paddlesport safety and rescue, whitewater safety and rescue and aquatic first aid courses for members Purchased new helmets, PFD'S and cags for the dub Launched new social media accounts to advertise the club Finances The club maintains a reserve fund of £2,500 to ensure that the club can operate in the face of any disruption. BDCC'S main Sour of funding is through our membership fees however additionally we have conducted fundraising events such as a quiz night and obtained a grant. Accounts attached.
