For the year ended 31[st] August 2023

Charity Name:

Al-Karimia

Charity Number:

1200668

Principal Address:

The Unity Centre Havelock Street Oldham OL8 1JR

Objectives and Activities

The objectives of Al-Karimia, as outlined in our governing document, are to advance education, relieve poverty, and promote social inclusion for the benefit of the community, regardless of faith, race, or background.

Our activities during the year have focused on:

  1. Providing educational workshops and training opportunities for individuals of all ages.

  2. Hosting community events to foster understanding and cohesion among diverse groups.

These activities align with our aim of making a meaningful, sustainable difference to the lives of those in need within our local and wider communities.

Structure, Governance, and Management

Al-Karimia is governed by a board of trustees who meet regularly to oversee the charity's strategy, compliance, and operations. Trustees are appointed in accordance with the charity's governing document, and they bring a range of skills and experience to support the charity's mission.

Recently we added a new Chair of trustees named Mohammed Azim, who will now start to drive activities and fundraising efforts.

Trustees’ Expenses and Benefits

The trustees of Al-Karimia did not receive any remuneration, benefits, or expenses during the year. It is the charity's policy that, should trustees incur expenses in the course of fulfilling their duties, no reimbursement will be provided. This ensures that all resources are directed towards the charity's objectives.

Plans for the Future

In the coming year, Al-Karimia aims to:

  1. Expand its educational programs to reach more individuals, particularly in underserved areas.

  2. Increase its food distribution capacity to meet growing demand.

  3. Strengthen partnerships with other charities and organizations to maximize impact.

These plans are subject to securing the necessary funding and resources, but the trustees are committed to pursuing them in the best interests of our beneficiaries.

Declaration

The trustees declare that they have approved this report in their capacity as trustees of AlKarimia and confirm that it complies with the Charity Commission’s requirements.
