The governing body of the charity is the Board of Trustees. The trustees are also directors for the purpose of the Companies Act. ## **Membership** The charity is constituted of a Membership which is open to any individual committed to promoting its objects and who is: - ➢ Nominated by two current members of the charity and applies to the charity in the form required by the Trustees. - ➢ Is aged 16 or over; - ➢ Is approved by a vote of at least 66% of the current Members voting in person or by proxy at an AGM; - ➢ Signs the Register of Members and subscribes without reservation to the Statement of Purpose as set out herein and signs a document agreeing to MOZAIK’s objectives. ## **Trustee selection methods** The Trustees have control of the Charity and funds. Each of the Trustees must be a Member and sign a Declaration of Willingness to act as a Charity Trustee. A Trustee should retire after serving for three years but shall serve a maximum of four consecutive terms of three years. Every issue may be determined by a simple majority of the votes cast at a meeting or by a written Resolution signed by all the Trustees. ## **Objectives & Activities Purpose** Our main purpose is prevention of human trafficking and poverty alleviation 2 ## **MOZAIK** ## **TRUSTEES REPORT (Continued)** ## **FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31[ST] December 2024** ## **Main activities** - ➢ Prevention through awareness, educational programs, and conferences - ➢ Intervention through psychosocial support, and spiritual care where necessary through prayer support and discipleship. - ➢ Post care through skill development, training and empowerment programmes ## **Achievements & Performance** The Charity is dependent on the services of unpaid volunteers for which we are greatly indebted and wish to thank them for their commitment and support. Achievements during the year include: **Education** – we are committed to running high quality training. We provide training that promotes awareness of human trafficking and leadership development. We do so in collaboration with a network of other organizations within the UK, and Ghana. Through workshops, we resource and conferences, we resource participants and equip participants with educational tools to create in order to create awareness. We conduct leadership development programs for leaders across various social spectrum. In the last two years (2023- 2024), we’ve especially conducted various programmes in Luton, England, and in Accra, Tema, Ho in Ghana , training approximately 400 participants. **Leadership development** – We are committed to the provision of training programmes for religious and corporate leaders to resource them with awareness tools, and tools for development of their leadership. In the spring and summer of 2024, we trained over 200 leaders in Ghana in our training workshops. ## **Financial Review** ## **Principle sources of income** The charity’s primary sources of income are through voluntary donations which amount to 96% of total income, and 4% through income from speaking invitations. ## **Expenditure** Our main expenditures during the year were to provide training, and community developments projects in Ghana. ## **Reserves Policy** The Trustees consider that reserves equivalent to between three and six months operation expenditure is required to allow for the uncertain income flow through the fluctuation of income and donations. The trustees are considering ways to increase the certainty of donation income, and our unrestricted funds or ‘free reserves’. ## **Trustees’ Responsibility Statement** The Trustees (who are also directors of MOZAIK for the purposes of company law) are responsible for preparing the Trustees’ report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally 3 ## **MOZAIK** Accepted Accounting Practice). Company law requires the Trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year. Under company law the Trustees must not approve the financial statements unless they are satisfied that they give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of the incoming resources and application of resources, including the income and expenditure, of the charity for that period. In preparing these financial statements, the Trustees are required to; - select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently; - observe the methods and principles in the Charities SORP; - make judgements and accounting estimates that are reasonable and prudent; - prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charitable company will continue in operation. The Trustees are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that are sufficient to show and explain the charitable company’s transactions and disclose, with reasonable accuracy, at any time the financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Companies Act 2006. Based our partnership, Mozaik will attempt to promote the work of YWAM Tema.
