The Adapted Sports Hub Trust
Trustees, Report
for the Year Ended 5 April 2025
The trustees present their report with the financial statements of the charity fow the year ended 5 April 2025. The
trustees have adopted the provision5 of Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recomrnended Practice
applicable ro charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the
UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021.
Objectives and artivities
Main Activities
Our rnain objective is to build an adaptive 5POrts hub which we will then manage for the benefit of a variety of local
organi5ation and groups especially those that are under-represented such as those with learning and physical
difficulties.
Planning permission for the building of the hub was obtained on 24th June 2024. We were then in a position to be
able ro focu5 on obtaining a lease of land at G¢eenpèrk Avenue King'5 Lynn (opposite Lynnsport and next to the tennis
courts) owned by the Borough Covncil of Kkngs Lynn and West Norfolk. Unfortunately this has taken rather longer
than we anticipated although the lease is expected to be signed within the next few weeks.
Without planning permission and a lease if has proved difficult to obtain significant capital funding from grants. We
have relied on furid Taising from generous local supporters to cover operational costs and some capital costs plus W
did receive a grant of £50,000 from the Norfolk Cofflmunity Foundation to support the costs associated with the first
phase of progressing the building plans for a fully adapted sports hub. This has allowed us to instruct an architect and
structural engineer.
We have visited and sought best practice ideas from other similar charities and continue to have close contact with
rhese charitie5.
The delèys with re8ard to planning pemission and the lease led us to consider how we might provide some type of
sport5 facility that was lully accessible without the need for a btjilding. We were offered some adapted cycles that
needed repair and a new container to store the bikes. We are grateful to both the donor of the adapted cycles and the
donor of the container as well a5 to Lynnsport for 311owing the container to be housed on their premises. Since the
year end we have set up Ride United which provides adapted cycling sessions suitable for all ages, abilities and
Achievements and performance
Charitable activities
As detailed above building work has not yet commenced as we needed to obtain a lease on the land as well a5
planning permission in order to be able to move forward_ This has taken far longer thèn expected but we do riow
have Heads of Terms agreed and anticipate that the lease will be signed within the next few week5.
Only when we have successfully secured funding can building work comfflence and so we will only be able to start
building when we have the funds in place to complete the project and 50 the next phase is fund raisirig from local
business and the community and grant applications.
Our website is now established and apart from highlighting what we are doing it ofler5 links to other organi5ations
providing f3cilitie5 for the disabled.
The work to Set up Ride United commenced March 2025 and culminated in the club starring weekly adapted cycling
session5 in September 2025.

Financial review
Principal funding source5
The charity managed to obtain generous unrestricted donation5 from local charitie5. businesses and individuals plus
there was the grant of £50.OCH) from the Norfolk Community Foundation. This gave us sufficient funding to be sure we
could cover our operational costs and progress the building plan5. It has a150 allowed us to work to set up Ride United
which means we can provide a sports facility for the disabled now.
Future plans
Agr&e the lease
Apply for capital funding- grant5 and donations
Work with professional advisers to ensure we have the structure in place to deliver the project.
Continue to raise the profile of the charity so that we can find committed volunieeTS and obtain donation5
Showcase the work of Ride United so that more people use and are aware of the facility
