local, regional and national<br>organisations; developing a strong<br>donor base of both individual and<br>corporate donors; and undertaking a<br>range of fundraising events, including<br>street collections.<br>During 2023, considerable progress was<br>made against all objectives, although by the<br>end of 2023, both self–employed part-time<br>administrative staff had resigned for<br>personal reasons. The charity is aiming to<br>appoint one part-time administrator to be in<br>post by the beginning of 2025.<br>HearSay had, by the end of 2023, been<br>working with one school and a charity that<br>supports young carers, and good progress is<br>being made towards work with further<br>schools. The grant from the Colyer<br>Fergusson Charitable Trust is enabling the<br>charity to offer more of these very well-<br>received parent support groups in 2024.<br>The charity’s financial position was boosted<br>by the award of a grant from the colyer<br>Fergusson Charitable Trust of £11,000 in<br>October 2023.<br>Performance of fundraising  Para 1.41  The charity has been successful in raising<br>activities against objectives  sufficient funds through fund-raising<br>set  activities and applications to foundations to<br>cover its running costs and to continue to<br>deliver counselling to a wide range of<br>people.<br>Investment performance  Para 1.41  Not applicable<br>against objectives<br>Other<br>**----- End of picture text -----**<br>




## **Financial Review**

Review of the charity’s  Para 1.21  During the year under review, there was a<br>financial position at the end  39% increase in the total revenue (£32k in<br>of the period  FY 2023 compared to £23k in FY 2022).<br>This was mainly because of a grant of £11k<br>from the Colyer-Ferguson Charitable Trust in<br>2023, and an increase in counselling<br>fees (£15k in FY 2023 compared to £8k in<br>FY 2022).<br>This increase in revenue enabled HearSay<br>to undertake more charitable activities (as<br>reflected, for example, in an increase in total<br>expenditure on counselling from £5k in FY<br>2022 to £19k in FY 2022). The charity was<br>able to carry forward £26k excess<br>unrestricted funds to support its activities in<br>FY 2024.<br>Statement explaining the  Para 1.22  There is no policy for the Charity to hold<br>policy for holding reserves  reserves. As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accourrts in
accordance with the requirements of the Charittes Act 2011 (Ihe Acr).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out under sec*ion 145
