funding community cricket for social change I'CSC'I projects in conjun¢tion with our partners.
The Charivs objectives are to supwrt and advan￿ the plawng of cricket in any part ol the wortd, that aims lo
help underprivileged young men and women experience ihe joy of cricket and who may otherwise afford not lo
do 80 due lo poverty, hardship or other disathantsg6.
Thgse objectives aim lo Iransfom) lives via the power of ¢ri¢kel lo enable young people to evolve and realisg
their full potenlial, enhancing their mental and physical well-being and leadership skills by creating the
environrnent for them to thrive and leawng a lasting impacl on their communth'es.

Since its inception as a charity, Bat For A Chance has supported over 23,000 people in 30 different countri8s.
This year was translormalive for the charity, building on ils kit redislribution programme and CSC projects via a
partner nefv￿rk that harness the power of cricket as a tool lor ￿¢181 Char￿ around the worfd.

During the year, the Chanty received a philanthropic grant from a Foundation. The grant Is Iransformalional for
the Charity and is for specific purrK)sÈs and resin"ctÈd in its use. Th& activities and delivèrablès associated with
the grant allowed the Charity to finance its kit recyding operation, suptx)rt the funding of CSC projects and hire
key personnel.
Bal For A Chance operates as a ¢x>llector and distributor of new and used cricket kil and clothing, providing
8GGess lo cri¢kel wthin low so¢1(￿on0M1C or marginalised ¢ommunilies and making the ¢riGket equipment
industry more sustainable. With the investment this year in new staff, warehouses and a van, the Charity has
been able to collecl and distribule more kil than ever before and Ihrough simple, commLJnity-led reuse, the
Charity is reducing waste, lowering carbon emissions. and demonstrating how cricket can be part of the climate
solution.

Achievements and perfomiance (continued)
The key demographilx of some of our beneficiaries of cricket kit and equipment domestically include a wide
range of refugee and communily organisations. Intemalionally, the charity completed projects in East Timor,
Germany, Kenya, and Uganda, each linked to structured cricket for development initiatives. These distributions
supported both grassroots partiCApation and organised c4Jaching environments.
During thg ye8r, the Charity supported the lunding of a CSC project in South Africa. boing 8 Coaching and
development programme designed lo empower aspiring coaches from township communities in association with
the Charity's partner, the Catch Tnjst. The programme achieved an 80% pass rate. with 2510 female
participation, and is on track to support 100 coaches in its first full funded year180 supported to datel. Graduates
of the programme are now delivering sessions In lownship schools and local clubs. creating structured, safe
spactss for youth development with longer-lemi outcomes emerging, as some graduates have gained
employment.
A year ahead of schedule, the Charity designed and funded a pilot girls, cricket and educats'on programme in
Pakistan. Delivered in partnership with Kings Trust Intemational and PAGE Foundation, the programme
inlegrales cricket into the ACHIEVE education programme in Islafflabad and Rawalpindi. In ils first three months,
th& programme re8ehed over 50 girfs across two schools. many 8c¢essing slruclured sport lor the first lim&, Th
programme has cre81ed safe spaces lor girls lo build confidence, leadership skn'lls, and peer relalionships, whlle
challenging social nonms that oftgn restrict girls. participation in sport.
During the year, the Charity also continued lo support its first CSC project, being the first grass roots cricket club
for gids in Barbados, providing the inlraslruclure Ihat a150 5UPPOrts (he gids with their education and running
workshops lor parents. Al the dale of this TepK)rt Ihe project supports ovw 100 gids in allending the club.
During the year, the Charity also continued lo lund a bat refvrbishmenl centre in Sri Lanka, alongside our Srl
Lankan charity partner, upskilling over 100 children with carpentry skills and repairing over 245 bats lor their re.
use in communities.
During the year, the Charity conlinved as the SUS￿1n8bl1ify impact partner of the Desert Vipers, an International
League T20 franchlse who pledged lo donale new and used kil lo the Charity in order for11 to ￿aCh schools,
clubs and a¢ademies in need. The Desert Vipers assisted the Charity to deliver a mentsl fitness programme to
the CSC South Africa projeci, helping coaches buikl resilience, manage stress. and better support the young
people they work with.
The Charity held ils inaugural Fundraising dinner 81 the (￿al. home of Surrey County Cricket Club. The evening
was a huge success with over 230 people attending lo support the Charity in ils causes.
The Charity has also appointed global ambassadors. being current and ex-England men and women cricketers
and a current West Indies women's cricketer. The Charity has also appointed a Patron who is an ex-lndia lesl
player, coach and adminislrator. The Charity is hugely graleful for the support they provide in promoting the
Ch8rity'5 causes.

After making appropriate enquiries. the Trustees have a reasonable expectation that the Charity has adequate

The Charity had cash reserves of £149.592 as at 31 De￿mber 202512024-. £255,748). The Charity believes that
supporting longer lemi programmes provides greater impacl and benefits for individuals as opposed lo one-off
The Chanty aims lo ensure that lulure commitments lo programmes are maintained to cover a period ol one
year together with six months ol future operational costs, that are fixed in their nature. This is to ensure that the
Charity can deliver on its future programmes and projects whilst having the headroom to withstand unexpected
events or otherwise.
As 8131 December 202S. the Charity had total roseryes of £147.283 of which £99,512 was unrèstricted and
£47.771 was restricted 12024". totsl reserves of £48,647 of which £26,096 was unrestri¢ted and £22,551 was

comprising both restricted and unrestricled funds. The Charity plans to utilise the surplus funds of £110,878 by
delivering its charitable activities.

b. Methods of appointment or election of Trustees
The management of the Charity is ihe responsibility ol the Truslees who are elecied and co-opted under the
terms ol the FoundatN)n Model. The current Tiuslee5 are lisled on Page 1.
Plans for future perfods
The Charty aims lo Secu￿ the sustainability of its kil recycling operation and develop existing and ntrw CSC
projects in conjunction its partners within their countries of 0￿ration. The Charity aims to accomplish this
through addib'onal funding and fundraising in order to achieve kit delivery efficiency as well as expanding the
Charitls global reach.
The Charity has been successful in T￿l¥l￿g the second year of funding via a philanthropic grant from a
Foundation. The aGtivities and deliverables assouated with the grant ￿11 allow the Ch8rity to finance its kit
recycling operation and CSC projects.
The Trustees recognise the requirement to safeguard Ihe Charitls assets and will only operate within the
Charity's own financial capabilibes, ensuring that in order to finan￿ initiatives. expenditure is only committed
where there is sufficient income 3nd cash balances held.

2.1 Basls af pr•paratSon of financlal statèmènts
The financial statements have been prepared in aco)rdance with the Charities SORP IFRS 1021-
Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Ststemenl of Recommended Practice applicable lo charities
prepanng Ihair accounts in aC￿rdance with the Finan¢ial Reporting Standard appli¢abl8 in tha UK
and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 leffective 1 January 20191, the Finanryal Reporting Standard
appli¢ab19 in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 and the Charities Act 2011.
The financial statements have been prepared lo give a 'true and fairf view and have departed from
the Charities (Accounts and Repy)rtsl Regul8b"ons 2008 only lo the exlenl required lo provide a 'lru8
and fair, view. This departure has involvtsd following the Charities SORP IFRS 1021 published in
October 2019 rather than the A¢￿untIng and Reporting by Charits'es.. Statement of Recommended
Practice effective from 1 April 2005 which has since been withdrawn.
Bat For A Chance meets the definition of a public benefit entsty under FRS 102. Assets and liabilities
are initially recognised al historical cost or transaction value unless olheN4ise gtsled in the relevant
accounting policy.
The finan￿al statements arg presented in UK sterling. which is the Chantys fundional Currency, and
rounded to the nearest pound.
2.2 Golng ¢onc•rn
The Truslees assess whether the use of going concem is appropriate i.e. whglher there are any
material uncertainties related to events or condrtKJns that may cast significant doubt on the ability of
the Charily to continue as a going concem. The Trustees rnake this assessment in respect of a
Period of al least one year from the dale of authorisalion for issue of Ihe financial siatemenis and
have conduded that the Charity has adequate resources lo continue in operational existence for the
foreseeable future arbd the￿ a￿ no m8lerial uncertainlie5 about the Charitys ability lo continue as a
going ¢on¢ern, thus they continue lo adopt the going ¢on¢em basis ol accounting in prgparing the
financial statements.
2.3 Income
All income is ￿¢c*anised once the Charity has enliyemenl to the income, (( is probable that the
income will be received and the am¢xJnt of ino)me receivable Can be measured reliably.
Granis are induded in the Ststement of financial activities on a receivable basis. The balance of
income received for specific purposes but not expended during Ihe period is shown in the relevant
funds on the Balance sheet. Where income is receivwj in advance of entilleTnenl of receipt, ils
recognition is deferred 8nd induded in cre(litors as deferred income. Where enlillemenl occurg
before income is ￿ceived, the income is accrued.
Income tax recoverable in relation to investment income is recognised at the time the investment
income is receivable.

2.4 Expgndlture
Expenditure is recognised once there is a legal OT constructive obligation to transfer economic benefit
lo a third party, it is probable that a transfer of economic benefits will be required in settlement and
the amount of the oblig8lion Can be measured reli8bly. Expenditurtr is cl8ssifitrd by aclivily. The costs
of each adivity are madg up of the total of dire¢t ¢osts and shared costs. induding support ¢osts
involved in undertaking each activity.
Expenditure on charitable activilies is incurred on directly undertaking the activities which further the
Chariws objectives, as well as any associated 5LlPPOrt Costs.
Grants payable are Charged in the year when the offec is made except in those ¢ases wherg Ihe offer
is conditional, such grants being recognised as expenditure when the conditions attaching are
fulfilled. Grants offered subject lo conditions which have not been met at the year end are noted as a
commitment, but not accrued as expenditure.
All expenditure is indusive of irrecoverable VAT.
2.5 Doblors
Trade and other debtors are reLwnised al the settlement amount after any trade discount offered.
Prepayments are valued al Ihe aft￿unt prepaid nel of any trade discounts due.
2,6 Cash at bank and In hand
Cash at bank and in hand includes cash and short-lerm highly liquid investments with a short maturity
of three months OT less from the date of acquisition or opening of the deposit or similar account.
2.7 Llabiliti6$ and provi8lon$
Liabilits'es are r¢wni$ed when there is an obligation at the 8alan¢e Sheet date as a result of a past
event, it is probable Ihal a transler of economic benefil will be required in settlement. and the amount
ol the settlement can be esijmated reliably.
Liabilities are recognised al the amfAJnl th81 the Charity antiCiP8tes il wll pay lo settle the debt or the
amount il has ￿¢81ved 8s advance(I payments for the g(xxls or services il musl providg.
Provisions are measured al the besl estimate of the amounts required to settle the obligation. Where
the effect ol the time value of rnoney is malerial, the provision is based on the present value of those
amounts, discounted at the pre-tax discount rale that reflects the risks specific lo the liability. The
unwinding of the discount is re(x)gnised in the St8temenl of financial activities as a fin8n¢& cost.
2.8 Flnanclal Instruments
The Charity only has financial assets and financial liabilities of a kind that qualty as basic financial
inslrurnenls. Basic financial inslrufflents are initially recognised al transaction value and subsequently
measured al their setuement value with the excepb.on of bank loan5 which are subsequently
m8asured at amortised cost using th8 effectiv8 interèst m8thod.
