Summary of the purposes of
the charity as set out in its
governing document
Para 1.17 Cylch Meithrin Y Ffor’s purpose is to provide
quality childcare, play and educaton to
preschool children through the medium of
Welsh. Our charity's purposes directly beneft
children of pre-school age where they learn to
develop their social, creatve, personal skills as
well as develop their numeracy and linguistc
skills all through the medium of Welsh. This is
quite possibly the frst tme that children will be
lef on their own in the care of staf, without
their parents, and they learn to become
independent individuals learning through play
and fun actvites at the Cylch Meithrin. The
Cylch Meithrin is the stepping stone that
prepares children for their journey onto formal
educaton ofering them a sound foundaton
both socially and academically. Families /
parents/ carers also beneft from our
organisaton's purposes as we ofer parentng
support and advice on how their children are
developing, healthy eatng and living as well as
ofer them the opportunity to learn Welsh with
their children. This is achieved by sending
bilingual/ Welsh actvites/ songs home for the
children to learn with their families, holding
various actvites, and sign postng to other
voluntary organisatons that can provide Welsh
language courses or actvites in the community.
Cylch Meithrin Y Ffor also benefts the wider
public and economy as we aim to employ local
qualifed people as staf, we always work in
partnership with Mudiad Meithrin to encourage
individuals to train and up skill as well as
encourage volunteering opportunites e.g. to
assist with actvites such as the summer fete,
Christmas partes etc. We also aim to beneft
other community organisatons and events by
supportngthem and workinginpartnershipfor
example we work closely with the local school
by organising christmas fair for the school
children, we also have opportunites to atend
diferent events at the school, we also hold a
Meithrin Mwy session for the nursery year group
from the school to atend with us.
Summary of the main
activities in relation to those
purposes for the public
benefit, in particular, the
activities, projects or services
identified in the accounts.
Para 1.17 and
1.19
Families and preschool children are the main
benefciaries of Cylch Meithrin Y Ffor. We
believe that it is important that children can
become fully bilingual as they grow. In order to
achieve this, we believe that children from birth
onward should have the opportunity to access
Welsh medium actvites and childcare where
they are fully immersed in the Welsh language
throughout the sessions. Parents and families
also indirectly beneft from our support as they
too have the opportunity to learn Welsh, and
learn and have fun with their children thus
enhancing their parentng skills. This is achieved
through Welsh language classes, signpostng to
parentng classes. Healthy eatng and living
actvites etc. Cylch Meithrin Y Ffor achieves our
aims through providing a range of actvites that
ofer a wealth of new experiences to them that
are fun and educatonal. These actvites provide
children with new experiences and opportunites
and equip them for school. Cylch Meithrin Y Ffor
aim is to also introduce children and their
families to the Welsh language. Over 5% of
children atending the Cylch Meithrin come from
non-Welsh speaking homes and our aim is to
ofer families the opportunity for their children
to become bilingual through immersing them in
Welsh throughout the sessions setng the
foundatons to a bilingual future a bilingual
