Achievements & Performance Publlc vfvJrStr￿p in 2023 has seen us continue ¥￿th our rnaln Sunday swvlce at 10..30arn. l am plessed to say that we have seen people join our wcyshipping u)mmunity. We have been averaging around 45 p80ple plus an average of around 8 children. An increase in the number of chiklren in church on a Sunday morning saw the launch of a Child￿n,$ church. While activty packs have continued to be provided during key ServI￿S t1￿1 are not necEswily child friendly, such as Remembran￿ Sunday and the traditional wol setvth when thildren's church is not provided. Easter 2023 saw the launch ofAII Age worship on the first Sunday each month providing a rrKire Infomial and interaclive style of worship. The unrfom groups that hire the hall have been invited to these with varying degrees of success. Crib Servi￿ saw over 160 people join in for an infomtsl worship to celebrate the birth of Christ. Lunch Fellowship has continued througl)out the year. This is held every other week on a Thursday morning. It mprises of a short sepiice in the church followed by lunch at a drfferenl locztion each week. 2023 has seen an average attendance of around 25 people.. a quarter of vthom are currentty not church members. This has been a good opportunty not only to come ttsJether to worship God. but also to come alongside one another, building fellowship and tackling loneliness and isolation. In November we held our remembrance Sunday servi1￿. This was a join serwce w7th Sl Helen's Ore. the salvation Amiy, Ore Methodist Church and Houlton Baptsst Church. Unrfomied groups also joined us along with represenlatives from the polw and fire seThlce. W8 had 180 in attendance in the church plus many more rnambers of the public joined us outside al tha war memorial which is located in our churth yard. It is a great prlvllege and honour to llold this Servi￿ that is a f{￿al wint for public remembrance here in Ora. Teaching, Baptl*lng and nurturfng now and exlstlng bellevern. Alpha vrds run dudng the earfy part of the year. this was off the back of pyomoting it throughout all our Christmas events. This was again Jointly run with Christ Church Ore. 25 peopl8 participated in lolal. We held the Holy Spirit Day at St Helen's church haN. Thi8 bvas a great day with many experiencing the Holy Splrit for the first lime. As always Alpha is a groat opportunlty all lo exth th8 Chrlstian falth, ask questlons and grow c108er to God. Followng Alpha, It was clear that all the peopkg taking part vmnted to cary on with some fom of dir￿ApleShIp. For this we ran a Oisripleshlp course lookn'ng at *rflual dlsclpllnes. Thls rdn up to the autumn lemi and the people in attendance have now formed a house group whlch meets every other week. Our monthly prayer evenings are a continued source of encouragement as we gather lo pray into the vlslon and mission of thè church and also to explore and en￿Urage d6ffer8nl fomis of prayer In order to bulld up the body of Chrlst. We Had 4 Baptlsms, no Marriages. 1 Funeral In thurth. Evang•ll•m and outroa¢h. A numbèr of school vislts have taken Pla￿ in the church during 2023 with classes from both Sandown and OVPA visiting the church. Alongside Tim, Kizzy and Ra￿1 have visited the schools themsefves to deliver sessions on tOPlCS, 6u(* as ￿￿ddIngS, a¢*4ent and Chrfstmas. Links have been develop&d between the church and Chrlstlan Schcols Workers Hastings to dellver JAFFA (Jesus a Friend forAII) dub week in OVPA and run refiection spaces (prayer spaces) at both Sd￿1$ during the summer temi. The pre-school, whlch runs out of the church hall. has also held events in the thwch during the year. Happy Feet parent and toddler group grow signthcantiy during 2023. This group continues to provide a community church ¢¥ossover by praytng for the families before singing time each week and visiting the churth building on special occasions. The long-slanding Monday evening youth group has refflained popular thmughout th8 year and with some interest and quesllonlng around Chrlsiianlty belng 8xpk)rpd. Some ol Ihe6e young p8OPk have allenoea services or i*ildren's church at vari(yJs points during the year. This is a free to café open to all. It is open belween 2pm and 4pm on a Thursday afternoon. It has sttraAed many on the school run, Some on thelr way and some coming back from school. We have *so seen many sthool children come in and enjoy the atmosphere and a hot chocolate. At th8 bèginning of December, we held our Christmas craft fair. We had local artrsls and makers selling wonderful grfls for Christmas.
