2022/23 Sometimes little people deserve a really BIG day out. At Anastasia Days we deliver fabulous, tailor-made experiences for children who need them the most.

Our mission is to promote the emotional recovery of young people across the North of England who have encountered illness, abuse, bereavement or other significant trauma. Anastasia Days, arranges memorable, no- compromise, fun days-out for children aged 6-16 and their families. Coby and Caleb are Harry Potter super fans. sent the boys and their family for a magical day in London at the Paige from Wigan has had a tough time lately so we sent her and her favourite cousins for a fabulous day of Princess Parties, Disney Shows and Fine Dining. Summary of the main activities in relation to those purposes for the public benefit, in particular, the activities, projects or services identified in the accounts.	Para 1.17 and 1.19	There is a growing amount of evidence within clinical psychology that early and well timed interventions following a ‘adverse childhood event (ACE)’ e.g. bereavement or accident, or during ‘ongoing, relentless stress’ caused by battling a life threatening illness for example, can help in promoting and advancing the emotional recovery of sufferers. Spending time doing something different from the routine associated with their situation, undertaking physical activity (where appropriate), spending time with trusted family and friends rebuilding a sense of safety and security (Childhood trauma almost always severely disrupts a child’s sense of safety which can cause them to withdraw) and providing an opportunity to create positive, happy memories that are more recent than the memories associated with their traumatic event/circumstance can help the process of repairing emotional ill-health. Aiding and advancing the emotional recovery of children must be beneficial to society and we believe the public benefit aspect of our charitable activities is strong. Each tailor- made Anastasia Days experience delivered in our 2022-23 year has delivered the benefits above and advanced the emotional

		recovery of the young people who have been nominated.

These people are truly wonderful to be investing time and expertise in our charity and we are very grateful indeed to our volunteers.

Achievements and Performance

Para 1.20	2022-23 was an extremely successful year for Anastasia Days, its fledgling year as the charity got off the ground. We created the policy and procedural framework for the charities activities to ensure that very high regard was made to governance, safeguarding and other operations such as regulatory compliance. Once this stable of policies was set up it enabled the real work of the charity to begin to deliver tailored, memorable high quality ‘day out’ based experiences to help advance the emotional recovery of young people who have encountered significant trauma. Key communication tools were set up like our website that we are very proud of, and our social media platforms. We knew these would be vital in raising awareness about our work and helping invite nominations for Anastasia Days. We are also very proud of

our supplier relationships we built in 202223, knowing that we can trust them to provide high quality experiences for our Anastasia Days young people. They understand our charitable mission and work hard to go above and beyond on each experience. We are particularly grateful to XXX princess parties who have worked with us from the beginning. We know from page 1 (see above) about the clinical evidence that exists that identifies the short and long term benefits of the type of experiences Anastasia Days provides, and we of course see the sheer glee, smiles and giggles of families on their special day itself. In addition, the brave families also take time out to send us feedback and this is so meaningful for us as it shows our impact and benefit first hand. In June 2023, Gary carer of Ivy & Ruby wrote to us and told us “I had to thankyou for the day you put on for the girls at the weekend. The thought and planning that went into it was brilliant and we are really grateful.” Gill also wrote to us about Chloe’s experience “Well what can I say! What an absolutely amazing day the girls had. They had their hair done, went in the limousine, went skating, had lunch and went shopping. Once again, a massive thankyou to you and your charity. You all do amazing work”

Achievements against objectives set	Para 1.41	Whilst no formal objectives are set for any given period, the Trustees strive hard to increase awareness of our charity and strive to receive as many nominations for Anastasia Days as our funds will support at any given time.

In relation to fundraising objectives, we are extremely fortunate to have a main patron in Keylime Consultants Ltd who provide a very reliable and secure funding stream every month which ensures we always have baseline funding to provide a minimum of 6 Anastasia Days experiences per year. Our ambition is more than that every 12 months but having security around that baseline income means we can ensure we are active as a charity.

The charity’s principal sources of funds (including any fundraising)	Para 1.47	The principal source of funding for the charity in our 2022_23 year, £6.529 was from Keylime Consultants who very generously donate 1% of their business invoicing totals. Our second biggest source of funds in 2022_23,£4,139, was from a partnership with Bolton School whose pupils have adopted Anastasia Days as its annual ‘Christmas Post’ Charity where they do lots of fundraising activities. They also organised a range of activities right through the year including a Summer Fayre and later in the year a bring and buy sale. We are very grateful for both these funding streams. The funding from Bolton School is particularly meaningful as this was the school that Anastasia Costello, a wonderful and much loved 11 year old, after whom this a charity is dedicated, attended. Wayne Costello, our charity Chairperson was invited along to Bolton School to participate in an assembly, talk about Anastasia Days and receive the cheque.

		We are also very fortunate to have extremely kind people like J. Scott who completed a half marathon in 2023 in aid of Anastasia Days and raised in excess of £700 for the charity.

We loose a sizeable proportion of our regular income from Keylime Consultants. 2. We have an influx of nominations that is greater than the funds available, and people capacity to deliver meaning we have to disappoint eligible children. 3. An incident occurs on one of our Anastasia Days experience days where a child is hurt (physically or emotionally) In 2023_24 Trustee Board will be developing a risk register where we can regularly review these risks and formally mitigate then to as low a likelihood as possible.
