Section D Achievements and performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

We have picked up numerous bags of litter, planted a couple of hundred bulbs, many plants and herbs and 12 fruit trees - by the shops and around the Open Space.

We have pruned overhanging branches and brambles, swept up leaf litter from the car park, cleared brambles from some areas and replanted with flowers.

That was all physical hard work. In addition we've used our brains and raised £16, 848.82p, and spent most of it, and will have spent the rest by our grant deadlines of end of May 2023.

Only one of our major spending projects was completed by the end of our financial and reporting date, the conversation bench, but I think it has been well used, and is a great asset to our Open Space.

I’m so looking forward to next year’s report, when I'm confident we will have finished another two projects and started on some more.

We did, of course, get the pond dug out, with the help of the Community Payback team under the supervision of Steve, so thank you to them. We have also had a great deal of work done by the Youth Offending team and their supervisor Paul.

We have laughed, groaned, raged, and made two more things – friends and “a difference”.
