The Education Movement is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales under charity number 1200371.
Structure, governance and management
The charity is governed by its constitution. The trustees are responsible collectively for the governance and administration of the charity and for ensuring that its resources are applied in furtherance of its charitable purposes.
Objectives and activities
The charity works to support education and improve learning conditions for children and school communities. During the year, funds brought forward from the previous financial period were applied to educational support and school improvement activities in Iraq. Activities supported included the provision of school uniforms for students, support for school cleaning, and painting and improvement works to three classrooms at Bint Al Huda School.
Achievements and performance
The charity continued to provide practical support to students and schools in Iraq using funds already held at the beginning of the year. No new income was received during the reporting period. The funds brought forward were fully applied to the charity's educational activities during the year.
Public benefit
In planning and carrying out the charity's activities, the trustees have had regard to the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit. The activities undertaken during the year were directed towards furthering the charity's educational purposes and supporting students and school communities.
Financial review
The charity began the year with cash funds of £5,601 brought forward from the previous financial period. No income was received during the year. Payments of £5,601 were made in furtherance of the charity's educational support and school improvement activities in Iraq. Accordingly, the charity had no cash funds remaining at 31 August 2025.
No remuneration or personal benefits were paid to trustees during the year.
Reserves
At 31 August 2025 the charity held no cash reserves. The charity did not undertake new fundraising during the reporting period and had no remaining cash funds at the year end.
Trustees' responsibilities and approval
The trustees are responsible for maintaining appropriate accounting records and for preparing the charity's annual report and accounts. The trustees have reviewed and approved this report and the accompanying receipts and payments accounts.
