REPORT FOR THE PERIOD ENDED 31 MARCH 2024 CHAIR'S STATEMENT FOR THE PERIOD ENDED 31 MARCH 2024 The Twstees present their annual reFX)rt together with the financial statements of Robinson H811 Lolworth (the Charity), for the peri11 ended 31 March 2024. The Charity was incorporat1 on 13 September 2022 for the purpose of taking over the assets and liabilities of the unincorporated charity known as The Robinson Hall (Lolworth) registered charity number 272105. This hawened on 27 June 2023 $0 the financial statements represent the income and expenditure for the period 27 June 2023 to 31 March 2024. The Trustees confirm that the annual report and financial statements of the Charty comply wilh the current statutory requirornents, the requirements of the Charity's goveming doujment and the requirements of the Charity Commission for England and Wales for charitable irbxrporated organisations {CIOsl and smaller non-company tharities. Obj¥¢tiv•s and kntlvltles The Charity's otiects are the provision and maintenan¢e of a village hall for the use ofthe inhabitants of Loknrth wrthout distindion of political, religious or other opinions induding use for megtings, lecture5 and classes, and for other forms of recreation and leisure-time occupation, with the object of irnproving Ihe conditions of life of those inhabitants. Pricr to the incorporation ot the ChaFity. Ihe village hall was held in trust for the old tsnincorporated ¢hartty by the Official Custodian for Charities. As the Charity rs now incorporated application has been made to HM Land Registy for the first registration of title to the village hall in the name of the Charity- The Trustees have complred wilh theirduty to have regard to the Charity Commission guidance on public benefrt. Achlevemenls and p•rfomianc• In this year we Ixought the community together for several 5Cessl fundraising events, induding a celebration of the King's Coronation on May P 2023 with aftemoon tea whith was well attended. We also had a Collection for the local food bank. In June we held a themed evening where we decorated the hall as a Greek tsverna and provided a wondeffijl supper, followed by karydoke and dancing. We held our first village show since Ihe covKI lockd¢ywn with all the tTUStees being invofved. During the day we provided afternn tea and refreshments, held a tombola and dog sh¢)w, followed by a hot supper and live music during the evening .This was very well attended and lovely to involve the community. Quiz night was held in October and a fantaslic fireworks display was provKJed for the village in November. We hosted a murder mystery event in Febwary 2024 which was sold out and also helped raise funds for the upkeep of the Hall. Rc*inson Hall provides a venue for LoOrth Village Club which is open each Friday throughout the year.11 is very suexessfvlly run by volunteers and w811 attended by the local community. We support each other as indewdenl organisations - putting on joint events and sharing our village facility. We offer the Hall for hire for private funCti(S whtch is an important source of additsonal income. The Hall provides an ex¢eilent space for anyone to hold thair own event and they can add further equw)ment to the hire indudingJnarquee$. seating and event18nls. This year we have Complelgd all required routine maintenance lo the building and also been able lo replace and UFgf8de our oil tank which now complies with current safety regulations. We have purchased new lights for the marquee as well as chairs and tsbles for the patio area. Additionalty we received an exlremety generous anonymous unrestsict8d donation of £50.000 whith has tr8nsfom)ed the Charity's finan¢ial situation. The money has been deposiled with Lloyds bank for a fixed lerrn expiring on 14 February 2025 al 5.08% rate of interest per annum. This will produce an InMe for the deposit temi of £3027 which will ensure that for the time being the Chority can cover its costs. Money not immediately required for day to day expenditure is hehj in an instanl access 8c£ount with Lloyds Gurrentty paying 1¥• per annum. The rate is variable. The reserves policy of the Charity is to hold in reserves at any one time one year's operating expenses. The policy wlll be reviewed annually by the finance SU committee and a recommendation made to the full board. Structiire• governance and management The Charity is a charitable incorporated organisation (Foundation SITuclurel and was ino)rporated under its constitution on 13 September 2022 with registered charity number 1200352. The members of the Chartty are the trustee$ named above. In the event of the Charity being wound up the rnembers have no liability to contribute to Its assets and no personal responsibility for settling its debts and liabilities.
