Achievements and rfoTmance:
During the year ended 3110812025 Cylch Chwarae Pontarddulais provided childcare. learning and
guided play opportunitie5 fL)r children. Using the langLrage It¥STT)er5ion method Cylch Chwarae started
thern on their bilingual journey and helped them become confident Welsh Speakers.
In terms c*f learning and with a larger intake of children at the start of the year in September 2024
the Cylch concentrated on settling into routines. exploring friendships and cooperation. In
November 2024 staff updated their safeguarding training to the new standards Set by the Care
Inspertorète Wales. The Cylch started a new design to smile campaign in January 25 which
continued throughout the year.
The new gardening area was used in 2024- 25 which is based on a new resurfè¢ed area with safety
fencing, moveable planters and gardening equipment forthe children to Use.
In term5 of service improvements a new app was trialled to involve parents and guardians in
development activities and to keep them updatsd on the Teaming that takes place. A grant wa5
received in this year15hown as a receipt within restricted fund5 in the accotjntsl for Additional
Learning Need5. This has Strengthened the capability of Cyl£h in this area allowing the purchase of a
soft play sensory derh, Sensory equipment, toys and lighting. In addition this has allowed staff to be
able to attend training 5e55ion5 and covered expÈnse5 and resources meaning the Cylch team 15
better able to accommodate additi(>nal needs within the childcare setting.
Financial review:
Funds at the end of the period to 3110812025 were £20,449 and policy is to hold reserves to cover
unanticipated expenditure 3nd l or redurtions in income. The accounts are propared on a ￿eIptS
and payments basis Icashl rather than an accruals basis.
A grant ol £l.OLKJ wa5 repaid in full in the year 3$ Chylch Chwarare Pontsrddulais w3s unable to
meet condition5 for this and the year was extremely busy with work completed in respect of a
gardening area and work towards Additional Learning Needs improvements.
