Objectives and Activities
The objectives of the CIO are the relief of sickness and the preservation of good health within the Central Surrey area, by the provision of trained community first responder volunteers to attend medical emergencies as directed by the South East coast Ambulance service.(SECAMB) To advance the education of the public in basic life support in particular, but not exclusively by the provision of training in the principles of first aid.
The main activities undertaken by the Central Surrey Community First Responder team were to provide on call hours for the ambulance service during which time the team members responded to patients in the community requiring immediate first aid as directed by SECAMB.
The team also provided training to members of the public at organised training events covering basic life support techniques including first aid, CPR and the use of defibrillators. The team supported the maintenance and installation of public access defibrillators in our local community.
Achievements and Performance
The Central Surrey First Responders team provided 2,098 hours on call for the ambulance service. The team attended 20 public training events and trained 702 people in basic life support techniques. The team refurbished 5 public access defibrillators ready for Installation in our local community.
Financial Review
The charity aims to keep financial reserves at a minimum and to spend available funds on necessary equipment and training.
The only source of income is from charitable donations from members of the public.
The charity accounts are prepared on a receipts and payments basis.
