## **Hobbs Nature Reserve Trust** 

## **Annual report to Charity Commission-period ending 31 December 2023** 

This is the first annual report to be submitted to the Charity Commission following the establishment of the Trust in 2022. Following the successful transfer of the nature reserve from the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust in August 2022, the trustees supported by the management committee have been undertaking work to improve the amenities of the reserve for the benefit of the local community and visitors. 

The most immediate priority was the restoration of the rock face that is regulated by Natural England as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Work has been undertaken by volunteers to remove moss, ivy and other vegetation that has been covering the rock face. Larger trees and shrubs were removed by tree surgeons. This work continued into 2024. 

The work of the reserve has been generously supported by Innovation Visual Ltd (https://www.innovationvisual.com/) who have provided significant funding as part of their contribution to supporting conservation projects through the international organisation 1% for the Planet (https://www.onepercentfortheplanet.org/). Prior to receiving these donations, the trust successfully applied for accreditation to 1% for the Planet.
