South Craven has begun to offer a short story and activity
during the sem)on for children who leave thè
although this has led to various challenges due lo space
stn'clions. This work has now been fomialised as "Bible
Expbrers" for children age 2 up to the end of year 2 and
makes use of the new garden room. The aim is to leach
the truths of the Bible through songs. cratl games and
prayer and to help each child respond lo the Bible in their
everyday life.
The services are available on YouTube or the church
website to enable indNiduals lo Ilsten or catch up.
Regular meeting5 and activities are advertised via word of
mouth and social media.
There are also seasonal services and activities
throughout the year. A well-attended traditional Christmas
Eve carol setvice by candlelight was held at South
Craven and Emmanuel hosted a family Nativity service
celebrating the Christmas story. Children were
encoura
ed to come dressed ?s their favourile Nativi

Charactsr. Everyone joined to sing we114oved Christmas
carols and heard a bible message about the true meaning
of Chrfstmas.
The miolveek meeling either takes the fonm of a central
meeting for all held in the church building Of house

going through thè same joys and challenges of pamting.
Opportunities for half-temilyl tennly get togethers for the
parents and their partners have included a BBQ and
sports activities for the children and parents. Ongoing
contact is maintsined by a WhatsApp group. This enables
friendships lo be maintained even rf parents return to

. A similar work at Emmanuel is called Toddler Time. This
offers a wann Spa￿ in the centre of Keighley for local
parents and children of all backgrounds lo come and
enjoy community, play. bible stories and craft activities.
It's been a great way to m881 new people in the
surrounding area. It has been decided to pause this work
for the moment due to not having a CL)nsislent
engagement and to reduce spending while the church
works towards independence. It has also allowed the
church to focus more of its energies on Sunday services.
. With increasing children attending b)th congreg8ttons it
was fett the right time to run a Holiday Bible Club

packed 2hrs for children aged 3-7 over 4 d8ys wilh crafts.
singing, games and refreshments culminating in a meal
for the families of the children. We We￿ thrilled to
welcome children who regularly attend church as well as
some of their fri8nds who have not attended church
before. It is hoped this can run annually.
Food for Thought- Monthly light lunch time meal and
thought for the day for anyone free during the daytime.
This has baen much appreciated by oldar members of tha
community, not only for the food but for valuable lime to
chat and deepen friendships. Faced with the decline of
numbers attending the difficult decision was made to end
this ministy after 12 years. The regular volunteers are
looking forward to offering their lime lo support other
ministries. The Trustees W15h lo thank all volunleers

Financial Review
Review of the charity's
fin8ncial position at the end
of the period
Pav8 1.21
The Trustees are satisfied that the Charity is financially
viable and sustainable in the short to medium term with its
existing cash reserves and continued voluntsry
donations. During the pefiod. the Church re￿1Ve￿ total
incoming resources of £103779. The largest proportion of
these resources is received in the form of voluntary
income from the members of the Congregations. The
church does rK)I make regular appeals for this fomi of
income bul relies on the generous spirit of the mombors
towards tt)e operation of the church.
During the period, thésè donations (including related tax
reclaimed under the Grft Aid sch8mel amounted lo
£87608.
The Church's total expenditure for the year was £g9529
The largest proportion of the expenditure relates to
ministry costs, in particular staff cos15 along5id8 pastoral
and evangelistic aclivilies.
In the absence of a man to fill the role of full time pastor at
South Crdven funds have been used lo pay for visiting
speakers to cover Sunday services.
The remaind8r of èxpendilur8 r8lales to the operation and
mainlerTrance of the Churth's building at Crosshills and
costs associated with Emmanuel Church Keighley
including the hire of an office and meeting space.
As the number of young children has grown at South
Craven the need for more space has become apparent.
After a period of refleCt￿n and exploration of options it
was decided to build a garden room which will provide
additional SPA￿ for Child￿n,$ WOTk during the as
well as use for other church functions.
Ttle trustees have been cognisanl that over recent years
regular incorne lexduding eX￿ptiOnal inwmel has not
met cu￿ent levels of expenditure due, in the main, to
supporting the work of our church plant.
Over this year Emmanuel has made links with other
Gospel churches in our area and beyond, asking them for
pray8T and financial support wllh the alm of Ind&pend&ncg
by 1$t September 2025.
We have been encouraged that like-minded churches
have willingly partnered with us and supported this work
and we have received one-off gifts and promises of
ongoing support. Total exceptional gifts towards
Emmanuel, this year. have totalled £16171. This, in
addition lo regulaf 9ivin9 from Emmanuel attendees has
meant thal Emmanuel only has a small deficit of £-2544
at the end of this year. A proposal by the Trustee5 was
agreed that this would be covered by South Craven funds
and a Memorandum of Understanding was accepled for
additional financial support over the next three years as
Emmanuel becnmes an indépond8nt church.
