## Trustees’ Annual Report

## Structure, governance and management

CELESTIAL CHURCH OF CHRIST HOUSE OF GRACE PARISH is a religious organisation established on September 4, 2020. The organisation started as a small unit home cell meeting with more than 7 members before it evolved into a bigger organisation with a membership in excess of 100, consisting of the adults, youth and children ministries.

The business is structured as a: God is the owner of the church while the Board of Trustees is interested in the effectiveness of the organisation’s activities to make sure that all things are in order.

Management is mandated to provide an effective and efficient way for the church to pursue its mission. At the same time, the Board of Trustees oversees the fulfillment of the church's mission. The management which consists of the Pastor, Assistant Pastor, Youth Minister, Head of Men's Ministry, Head of Women's Ministry, and Children Department is responsible for the management of the business operations of the church. Duties include office management, communicating with the congregation, managing volunteers, assisting with the financial management of the church, and organising events.

## General Outlook

The goals and objectives of the organisation are: to advance the Christian faith through the belief in one true God, who lives eternally in three persons – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit; To relate to one another as members of the one Body of Christ throughout the country/world; To Foster evangelism through the preaching of the Gospel with signs and wonders and the demonstration of the gifts of the Holy Spirit by presenting Jesus Christ as the only Saviour, Baptizer in the Holy Spirit, Healer, and coming King.

## Financial Outlook:

With our income usually just over the Charity Commission’s stipulated threshold of £25,000, we provide this report and the financial statements for the year ending 30 September 2024. The financial statement has been prepared using the accrual accounting format where feasible, practical and complies with the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP), the Charity Act 2011 and the financial accounting standards. In accordance with the SORP interpretation of the accrual financial accounting standard, our independent accountant and examiner asked to see and check all

necessary accounting records, including bank statements, invoices, receipts, accounting transaction vouchers, Gift Aid records etc. We were informed that the information was sufficient for the completion of financial statements for the year ending 30 September 2024.

## CCC House of Grace Charity event report 2024

At Celestial Church of Christ, House of Grace Parish, we aim to educate, enlighten and engage our members, other denominational members and the community at large, ensuring we are able to positively impact our church and community as a whole. We are able to achieve this through various planned events which are done by the chosen committee. These events take place periodically throughout the course of the year.

This year so far, we have held the following events:

## Women Empowerment program - Sat. 3rd Feb 2024. 3rd Feb 2024.

We had guest speakers who educated us on finances, modern slavery and its impact on our community, contextual safeguarding amongst other topics. There was a question and answer segment where attendees were able to ask open floor questions and share knowledge with one another.

## Annual Anniversary Thanksgiving Service- Sun, 4th Feb 2024.

This was an open invite to all, with prayers, thanksgiving and free food shared amongst the members and invitees.

## Youth outreach by Community Police officers-

These are regular visits to specifically educate the younger members on keeping safe and staying out of trouble as well as how to be an integral member of the community.

## Homeless Initiative Program-

In addition to feed our nearby community on event days a team gathers new items as well as approved used items donated from generous members in order to share amongst the homeless during the outreach in Holborn. Food packs along with hot drinks are also provided. The clothing items available include but not limited to; jumpers, jackets, duvets, and tracksuits.

## Youth and Marriage counseling-

This is available to everybody, both members of the church and non-members.

## Choir Cantata and Youth Empowerment-

This took place on the 23rd June 2024. There were many guest singers, spoken words performers, and the Councilor Qaisar Abbas was also in attendance, as he has gracefully attended every year of the event taking place. He gave a speech to the community, encouraging and expressing his sincere gratitude regarding the event.

As this was an outdoor event, the community was able to get involved in the dancing, singing and feasting which took place. All was free to everyone and no funds were received following the sale of food or any items.

## Upcoming Harvest-

This is coming up on Sun 25th August 2024. This is similar to the Choir Cantata as there’ll be provision for feeding the congregation and community.

## Invaluable volunteers’ contributions:

The Church relied on the personal, financial, and physical contributions of volunteers in performing the very essential activities in and out of the Church, for example, the cleaning of the Church is constantly done by the Church volunteers under the guidance, direction, support and the accompanying blessings of God. The Church only employs one person full-time, which is the Minister-In-Charge.

## Evangelism, Anniversaries and Church Tenets:

As a Christian-faith church gifted with the biblically promised grace by the Holy Spirit, our variously gifted members, young and old, have the opportunities to volunteer and share their gifts and talents in our various church departments, including counselling, teaching, providing sermons, delivering spiritual messages to comfort the aggrieved, give counsel to those seeking God’s directions in their employments, businesses and family lives. We constantly hold discussion forums to deliberate on how best to contribute to and serve the interest of our community, morally, religiously, socially, financially, locally and nationally. We encourage Christian-loving attitudes and behaviours which comply with God’s Commandments as written in the Holy Bible Book, the UK Laws and Customs. During every church service, members are reminded of God’s Commandments, the rules and tenets of the Church in accordance with our registered aims and objectives. We contribute towards the travelling cost of visiting officiating evangelists and preachers. We give monetary donations to other churches when invited to the celebration of their annual harvest thanksgivings. Sometimes, we receive donations from other Churches we invite to our annual harvest celebrations. All monetary donations are properly declared and accounted for in our yearly Financial Statements.

## Achievements and Performance

In here, include a summary of the main achievements of the charity during the financial period:

- The Cantata and Youth Empowerment Program was an outdoor event that involved the community and visitors.

- The event was a huge success, which had over 500 people in attendance and were fed with free food and drinks such as barbeque chicken, jollof rice, finger foods, hot dogs, slush, chapman, water and soft drinks

- The impact the charity made was to create awareness of the church and also preached the word of God with love. The community were really pleased to know that the church existed in the area.

- The volunteers were the church members and their achievements were talking to people, dancing with them, feeding the community, and ensuring that the people that were in attendance were happy and understood the bible and most importantly preaching love and repentance of sins and guiding new Christians and mature Christians while targeting not-yet Christians
