whole.|Para 1.20|During this period, CPB successfully
launched the mosaic project
across Beaconsfield. The result was the
creation of three large public artworks
made to the highest industry standards by
leading mosaicist Maud Milton. More than
1,500 local people of all ages and abilities
were brought on board from infants to the
elderly and all ages in between. Many
people commented on how they appreciated
being included in this community project
because there is nothing else like it for
bringing people together out of isolation. It
gave people a lift to their self-confidence and
a boost to their well-being knowing their
contribution would be on display for
perpetuity alongside lots of different people
from the town. The artworks are dedicated to
our key workers who served us selflessly
during the Covid 19 pandemics as well as
paying tribute to the way people of
Beaconsfield pull together during difficult
times. NHS staff from our local doctor
surgeries were involved as well as the entire
year 8 of a secondary school and year 6 of a
primary school. The workshops were free
and accessible; taking place in libraries,
medical centres, schools, nurseries and
elderly people care homes. These three
mosaics have ignited ongoing support and
interest in the mosaics, paving the way for
more to be made and more people to bring
on board, releasing new skills into the area.
A further result is an increased sense of
cohesion as artworks are now on permanent
