General Details The Board of Trustees remained the same throughout the reporting period. 2. Charity Objectives Blue Skies Hub for Children and Young People exists to provide support, care, and educational opportunities to disadvantaged families globally. Our mission is to create equal access to education, care, and essential resources for children and families facing hardship, including those with no recourse to public funds. The charity fulfils its purpose through: - Offering childcare scholarships to families in need - Providing apprenticeships for young people - Delivering community engagement programmes - Supporting families abroad with food, clothing, and financial aid - Partnering with local and international organisations to extend impact 3. Activities and Achievements (April 2023 – March 2024) During this financial year, Blue Skies Hub for Children and Young People focused on strengthening its foundation, governance, and community connections in preparation for future large-scale initiatives. The trustees and volunteers worked to develop operational systems, secure partnerships, and raise awareness about the charity’s objectives through local engagement and planning meetings. Although the charity’s outreach programmes were still in the preparatory phase, small-scale community support was offered to local families through advice, signposting, and engagement activities. This year also included developing promotional materials and building early networks with international contacts to support the future expansion of humanitarian work. 4. Financial Review During this reporting year, Blue Skies Hub for Children and Young People remained self-funded by trustees and volunteers. No external income or grants were received during this period, and no paid staff were employed. Expenditure during the year related mainly to administrative setup costs, promotional materials, and early community engagement activities undertaken by trustees. The trustees continue to prioritise transparency and sustainability and plan to generate income through future fundraising events, sponsorships, and partnerships. 5. Structure, Governance and Management Blue Skies Hub for Children and Young People is governed by a dedicated Board of Trustees who meet monthly to review progress, monitor activities, and make key decisions. The charity operates under its constitution and adheres to all relevant Charity Commission requirements. The trustees have developed and adopted key organisational policies, including: - Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy - Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy - Health and Safety Policy - Data Protection and Confidentiality Policy - Financial Management Policy - Risk Management and Volunteer Policy 6. Plans for the Next Year (April 2024 – March 2025) The upcoming year will see Blue Skies Hub for Children and Young People transition from planning to action, with the launch of new local and international initiatives. Key priorities include: - Launching the Stay and Play community programme in Edgware - Initiating the charity’s first fundraising event to build sustainable income - Developing homeless outreach support within the UK - Undertaking humanitarian trips to countries such as Malawi, Uganda, and India - Expanding apprenticeship and child sponsorship programmes for disadvantaged young people Through these initiatives, the charity aims to make meaningful and lasting change both locally and globally. 7.
