The Railway Children Preschool CIO of 1A Duncoft Avenue, Gedling, Nottingham, NG4 3FY is registered with the Charity Commission (No. 1200139). The Charity is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) governed by a Constitution adopted 22 August 2022.
## **Trustees**
The trustees who manage the Charity are:

## **Structure, governance and management**
The Charity is governed by a Constitution dated 22nd August 2022.
Trustees of the Charity are appointed or reappointed at annual general meeting.
On 10th February 2023 the activties and resources of the The Railway Children (Gedling) (Charity No 1060534) were transferred over to The Railway Children Preschool CIO.
## **Objectives and activities**
The aim of the pre-school is to enhance the development and education of children primarily under statutory school age by encouraging parents to understand and provide for the needs of their children through community groups and by:
(a) offering appropriate play, education and care facilities, family learning and extended hours groups, together with the right of parents to take responsibility for and become involved in the activties of such groups and offer opportunites for all childen whatever their race, culture, religion, means or ability;
(b) encouraging the study of the needs of such children and their families and promoting public interest in and recognition of such needs in the local areas.
When undertaking the Charity's work, the trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit.
## **Achievements and performance**
The pre-school successfully transitioned into the CIO structure and continues to grow the works of the Charity in accordance with its aims.
## **Financial review**
## _Reserves policy_
All reserves are currently held in a bank account. Reserves are deemed to be sufficient operationally to cover the Charity for a period in excess of 3 months.
The trustees declare that they have approved the trustees' report above.

## **Independent Examiner's Report to the trustees of The Railway Children Preschool CIO**
I report to the Trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above Charity for the period ended 5th September 2025, which are set out on pages 3 and 4.
I report that I am a partner in an accountancy practice that also provides book-keeping services to the Charity. I am not the book-keeper and the provision of book-keeping services is performed independently. As examiner, I have applied the Financial Reporting Council's Revised Ethical Standard 2016.
## **Responsibilities and basis of report**
As the Charity's Trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ("the Act").
I report in respect of my examination of the Charity's accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act. In carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
## **Independent examiner's statement**
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that, in any material respect:
- the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; and
- the accounts did not accord with those records.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

We write to confirm that to the best of our knowledge and belief, and, having made appropriate enquiries of other trustees and officials of the charity, the following representations given to you in connection with the preparation of the charity’s financial statements and the independent examination for the period ended 5[th] September 2025: -
1. We acknowledge as trustees our responsibility for the financial statements, which you have prepared for the company. All the accounting records have been made available to you for the purpose of your work and all transactions undertaken by the charity have been properly reflected and recorded in the accounting records. All other records and related information, including minutes of all management and trustee meetings have been made available to you.
2. We confirm that we have declared all related party interests and transactions to you.
3. We confirm that there are no contingent liabilities.
4. We confirm that we have fully reviewed the liabilities included in the financial statements, that the liabilities are not understated and have been properly disclosed in the financial statements.
5. We confirm that we have fully reviewed the debtors in the financial statements, that the debtors are not overstated and have been properly disclosed in the financial statements.
6. We confirm that we have fully reviewed the restricted funds shown in the financial statements, that the restricted funds are not understated and have been properly disclosed in the financial statements. All grants, donations and other income, the receipt of which is subject to specific terms or conditions, have been notified to you. There have been no breaches of terms or conditions in the application of such income.
7. We confirm that we are not aware of any after date events that materially alter the transactions or balances included in the financial statements.
8. We confirm we were made aware of the issues with paying trustees that have previously been notified to the charities commission. Also, we will improve our 2 person checks on payments.
9. We confirm that there are no reasons to assume that the charity should not be treated as a going concern.
