Structure, Governance and Maintenance
CFCM-UK is a registered charity (1200111) governed by its constitution and registered on 18[th] August 2022.
The Charity’s governing body is the Board of Trustees which meets a minimum of two times per year and oversees the strategic direction and management of the Charity. The Chair of Trustees serves as the Administrator of the charity, taking managerial responsibility for the charity.
The 6 Foundation Trustees, who were in office throughout this reporting period, were selected from people who have visited Children for Christ Ministry in Malawi and who share a desire to see its work maintained and expanded. They bring a mix of skills and backgrounds to the board. They will initially serve for 3 -5 years to establish staggered terms with subsequent 3 years, all subject to observing their responsibilities as laid out in the organisation’s governing instrument. The appointment of new trustees will be made by existing trustees.
All trustees were made aware of the Charity Commission’s guidance for trustees before committing to the role. The Chair of Trustees has attended some of the Charity Commission’s webinars for faith-based charities and has informed the rest of the trustees of anything of relevance.
Activities
CFCM-UK raises awareness, funds and prayer support within the UK to enable work being carried out to advance the Christian faith among children in Malawi. CFCM-UK receives reports (written, financial, verbal, photographic) from Malawian charity Children for Christ Ministry who are working to advance the Christian faith among children in Malawi. CFCM-UK shares the information with supporters in the UK using printed publicity material and a website. CFCM-UK transfers received funds to the Malawian charity according to an agreed budget.
Public Benefit
In reviewing the overall aim and the objectives of CFCM-UK, and in exercising their powers and duties, the Trustees have had due regard for the Charity Commission’s public benefit guidance. The activities of CFCM-UK, as well as the activities of Children for Christ Ministry in Malawi, are carried out to further its charitable purpose for the public benefit.

Achievements and Performance
CFCM-UK has achieved a greater awareness of the work being conducted by Malawian partners Children for Christ Ministry through publications and website. Donations to general funds in the reporting year were higher than the previous year.
During 2025, Children for Christ Ministry trained 1357 Sunday school teachers and pastors during a total of 43 seminars covering every region of Malawi. These teacher training seminars are open to teachers and pastors from any denomination. The volunteer training team is expanding and includes men and women from any Christian denomination who have attended Training of Trainers, proved their enthusiasm and capabilities as children’s workers and as adult educators. Children for Christ Ministry is moving closer towards its vision of having a trainer or trainers in each of the 28 districts of Malawi, and CFCM-UK has provided the resources for all these activities.
The latest survey of Children for Christ Ministry Bible clubs was carried out in 2022. It reported 63 Bible clubs nationwide, with a total of almost 7,000 children attending each week. A new survey will take place in 2026 and is expected to show significant growth in these statistics. CFCM Bible clubs are open to children of any faith or no faith. A small number of children from these Bible clubs who have physical needs have been helped by Children for Christ Ministry during 2025 – by provision of clothes, food and school fees. The resources for these spiritual and material ministries have come through CFCM-UK.
Through a grant obtained by CFCM-UK,11 members of the Children for Christ Ministry team have been trained by the Malawi’s Ministry of Gender, Children, Disability and Social Welfare, in conjunction with UNICEF, to become Safeguarding Case Managers. These 11 are now using their training, mainly in cases of neglect or failure to send children to school through poverty, and sadly some cases of deliberate physical and sexual abuse. Their training has given them the confidence to intervene, speak with all parties involved, offer help, and report issues to the police and local Social Welfare offices.
CFCM-UK has achieved its objectives for this period: raised sufficient funds to enable Children for Christ Ministry to increase its capacity and carry out their planned activities for 2025; kept UK supporters informed through publications and website; reduced CFCM’s dependency on UK charity Zambesi Mission.
Financial Review
At the start of the reporting period, CFCM-UK had a balance of £12,671.73. Total income during the reporting period was £31,018.23, expenditure was £37,147.74. On 31[st] December 2025 CFCM-UK had a surplus of £6,542.22.
Major purchase in this period – a new vehicle for Children for Christ Ministry costing £10,078.38.
A significant gift of £7060 from a UK church was used for exceptional non-budgeted purposes. The money was used to supply new equipment for the Children for Christ Ministry office, a large stock of Bibles for resale to Sunday school teachers at a reduced rate, the translation of CFCM’s training notes from Chichewa into Chitumbuka, and for CFCM’s first team conference. The money will also go towards CFCM’s first residential children’s camp to take place in 2026.

The principal source of funds is from individual supporters, churches and UK charity Zambesi Mission (ZM).
Relationship with related parties
Children for Christ Ministry was formerly funded by Zambesi Mission, a charity which has multiple partner organisations in Malawi. ZM has supported the establishment of the dedicated charity, CFCM-UK, and has a partnership agreement with CFCM-UK. ZM makes yearly donations to CFCM-UK, and in return CFCM-UK provides ZM with an annual report including a financial summary on how the funding is being spent in Malawi. Additionally, ZM helps mobilize prayer support for the work of Children for Christ Ministry, helps with the mailing of CFCM-UK publications and shares container space for stocks of stationary to be shipped to Malawi. Within Malawi, ZM’s regional team provides advice and support to Children for Christ Ministry staff.
