Objects and activities of the charity

The purposes of the charity are as set out in its governing document.

The objects of the charity are:

To advance the education of children below compulsory school age. To provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children to support their overall development, encourage independence, and prepare children for their transition to primary education.

The organisation continually seeks to explore all appropriate funding opportunities and income streams which help achieve the charity’s stated objectives.

The main activities undertaken in relation to those purposes during the year.

The charity offers affordable sessions from Monday to Friday, 50 weeks of the year. These sessions feature a range of activities such as arts and crafts, role-playing and story time. Activities are tailored to reflect the children's interests and are planned in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage framework established by the government.

The main activities undertaken during the year to further the charity's purpose for the public benefit.

The charity continues to apply for grants and to fundraise throughout the year. The charity seeks to support all staff, including newly appointed members, by strengthening their knowledge and skills via internal and external training programs.

The charity continues to develop the Pre-School’s record keeping systems in line with EYFS which will overall improve efficiency with the finances.

The main achievements and performance of the charity during the year.

The charity has this year combined 2 separate sites into one combined charity whilst also opening a third location; Bishop’s Manor. This has increased the childcare spaces available to the local community and also provided additional job opportunities.

The combining of the separate sites has increased efficiency and provided a consistent management team for all three pre-schools.

Bishop’s Manor has been renovated within this financial year and opened to children in January 2024. The funds used on the renovation were either raised via fundraising activities (e.g. a parent skydive) or have been obtained from local council grants.

Plans for the Future

The charity plans to:

To find a long term solution to protect the future of the Pre-Schools and their financial stability when the local primary school opens their nursery.
