Better Coffee Foundation
ANNUAL REPORT FY 2025
Record Climates in Brazil and Vietnam
Brazil, the world's largest coffee producer, is battling its worst drought in seventy years. Unstable weather and extremely low rainfall have hit the coffee crop hard. The lack of moisture has caused the Hello , coffee trees to flower less, which will affect not only the current season but also the next season, so Arabica production is expected The Better Coffee Foundation has had an incredible FY25 - a to drop dramatically next year. There is our second full financial year. I’m ple sed to say we’ve made lready a shortage of 10 million 60 kg bags of gra significant investm e nt in plastic recovery around the world. en Arabica beans. Our relationship with Ocean Co has enabled us to deploy Vietnam, the world's second largest coffee producer, is facing major funding more efficiently, ensuring that we can collect more challenges due to adverse climatic conditions. The dry season was plastic for every pound. followed by intense rainfall, which has had a negative impact on the o quality and quantity of the crWe’re excited to increase ur impact even further in FY26, p. through Grind’s continued support, and look forward to In addition to lower yields, the drought is also making the harvesting exploring additional ways that we can undo the damage done process more difficult. Many farms are struggling with higher by the global coffee industry. irrigation costs and lower labor efficiency, which, combined with global shortages, is driving coffee prices to all-time highs.

Achievements & Performance
SORP reference
Summary of the main Para 1.20 achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole.
During the financial year, our charity's primary achievement was the provision of grants to Ocean Co, organisations dedicated to preventing plastic waste from entering the ocean.
Through our funding, these partners were able to reduce the amount of plastic pollution reaching the ocean, as well as supporting local waste collection initiatives. The impact of our grant has resulted in a tangible reduction in plastic pollution, benefiting marine ecosystems and contributing to a healthier environment. Furthermore, by supporting these community-based approaches, we have contributed to social and economic benefits in the regions where they operate. This has had a wider benefit to society as a whole by contributing to a more sustainable future.
