Bank :
Virgin Money (previously known as Yorkshire Bank in York. We can use the Post Office for paying money into the Yorkshire Bank without the need to travel to Selby but can only be deposited in complete bags of money. So some money has to be “carried over” until we can get complete bags of money to deposit it.

Structure, governance and management
The method of appointment of PCC members is set out in the Church Representation Rules. All who attend our church are encouraged to register on the electoral Roll and stand for election to the PCC.
A Standing Committee made up of the Vicar, Churchwardens, PCC Vice Chairman, PCC Treasurer, PCC secretary and one other member meets as and when necessary to consider matters which need immediate or urgent attention.
We have a Subcommittee that looks at and deals with the Fabric (including Buildings sub- committee). As we now have an administration team, most things are dealt with by the admin team.
Objectives and Activities
Goole Parochial Church Council (PCC) has the responsibility of co-operating with the Vicar of Goole in promoting in the ecclesiastical parish the whole mission of the Church, pastoral, evangelistic, social and ecumenical. The “ecclesiastical parish” bears little relationship to the “civil boundaries” and therefore finds itself ministering to many people who properly belong to neighbouring parishes.
Achievements and Performance
The number on the Electoral Roll at the end of December stood at 98.
Due to the Covid 19 Pandemic and various Government lockdowns, as a congregation we slowly moved back to what would become our "normal" services. At communion the bread is now dipped in the wine before giving out to the congregation. Although we great everyone, not all shake hands with each other still.
Hannah and the team have been running various courses including Alpha and prayer meetings.
Weddings and Baptisms have been taking place. Funerals have been taking place without being restricted to numbers as was during the pandemic
Contact is still maintained with as many people as possible, through Church newsletter and telephone contact.

Review of the year
The PCC met 10 times during 2023 and usually try to have August as a free month and there was no meeting in December.
Fundraising is starting to take place through having craft fayres on some Saturday mornings when we have the Saturday café.
Those who pay income tax at the standard rate are encouraged to make a Gift Aid declaration.
We continue to explore avenues of fundraising and grant applications.
We are part of a Mission partnership which has been set up amongst our neighbouring Churches in our Deanery.
At the beginning of 2023 we undertook much needed work to the South slope of the Nave roof. At the same time we did work to the windows on that side of the building. This has help stop water damage in three places and also secured the windows on that side of the building for another generation. In total it cost around £117k, which was paid from church donations and also church funds previously raised and secured in the past. Yorkshire Historic Churches Trust also awarded us £6K as part of the work.
After the EICR Electrical Installation condition report it was noted some significant work was needed on our electrics, with parts being labelled as dangerous. The cost of this work was around £3.7k.
During a particularly stormy season we had some damage to the cottage, where the vegetation was disrupted and it was taking part of the roof and stonework with it. Due to our finances being tied up in the Nave roof and windows project, the Diocese of Sheffield awarded us an emergency grant of £5k to have the vegetation removed and some hoarding to be put up, to protect the rear playground from any falling debris.
Financial Review
PCC
The activities of the PCC continue to be generously funded from donations made by church members, for which we are very grateful.
Total receipts received during the year were £227,142 (£115,596 in 2022).
An amount of £6,082 was received from H.M.R.C. in respect of Gift Aid Tax refund (£9,685 in 2022). Payments for the year totalled £273,953 (£162,311 in 2022).
The common fund for the year was set at £34.104 (£31,387 in 2022) and we were able to pay all of it.
