KAFUTI TRUST REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES 

The trustees present their report with the financial statements of the unincorporated charity for the year ended 30th JUNE 2025. The trustees have adopted the Statement of Recommended Practice: Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK.

## **STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT**

Recruitment and appointment of new trustees 

The induction process of any new trustee comprises an initial meeting with the Chairman, followed by meetings with not less than two other trustees. A new trustee will be appointed by a resolution of the trustees passed at a special meeting, after the new trustee has signed a declaration of their acceptance and willingness to act in the trusts of the charity. 

## **Risk management** 

The trustees have a duty to identify and review the risks to which the charity is exposed and to ensure appropriate controls are in place to provide reasonable assurance against fraud and error. 

## **OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES** 

Objectives and aims. 

The objects of the CIO are: The promotion of social inclusion for the public benefit in London among people who are refugees and asylum seekers, who are socially excluded on the grounds of their socioeconomic position, to relieve the needs of such people and assess them to integrate into society in particular but not exclusively by the provision of education and training to enable such people to integrate and adapt to life within the wider community. 

## **Public Benefit** 

The services and support provided by this organisation will help people facing difficulties, after due to a disadvantage such as financial; not being able to speak and understand English easily; being unfamiliar with local services and how they work. This in turn will help people to feel safer and more confident living in their communities. 

## **Grant making** 

The payment of grants in furtherance of the charity's objectives is voted and agreed upon by the trustees at regular meetings.

## **ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE** 

Review of the development, activities and achievements for the year 

The Trustees continue to monitor and arrange for maintenance of the statues which are common to many schools throughout London and the United Kingdom as they are representative of what the charity is about. This will ensure that the appearance of the building is maintained and will prevent the statues being damaged irreparably. 

## Specific Investment Powers 

Kafuti Trust trustees have drawn up a set of rules, which have been accepted by the meeting to ensure grants received are used effectively for mission and capital works. Contributions made by trustees and volunteers are £500.00 

## Investment policy and performance 

The reserve policy for Kafuti Trust is to hold a sum equivalent to 4 months' average expenditure. This should be sufficient to meet any unforeseen item of major expenditure on manses and to be able to continue, in the short term, funding planned activities in the event of the growth of the organisation. There is no fund materials in the deficit.

## **FINANCIAL REVIEW** 

STATEMENT OF TRUSTEES' RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The trustees are responsible for preparing the annual report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice. Charity law applicable to charities in England and Wales requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of charity's financial activities during the year and of its financial position at the end of the year. In preparing financial statements giving a true and fair view, the trustees are required to: 

select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently. make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent; and state whether applicable accounting standards have been followed, subject to any material departures that must be disclosed and explained in the financial statements; and prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in business. 

The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which are sufficient to show and explain the charity's transactions and to disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 2011, the provision of the Trust deed and the "Charities SORP (FRS 102). They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
