people to participate in netball, fitness and
social activity throughout the year
supporting people who would otherwise be
unable to afford it.
We have developed a Netball support
system for women and girls of all ages to
access, providing opportunities to engage
in competitive leagues.
We run a session every Monday night and
Saturday mornings which averages
between 18 and 25 attendees each week.
Most participants have attended at least 20
times over the year.
Additionally, there has been the
opportunity to take part in social (friendly)
netball matches, helping to build the
confidence of our members and connect
with others across the city. 20 women and
girls have taken part in 25 social games as
well as 2
tournaments. Two members have done
Safeguarding training and another has
participated in netball qualifications.
The team is integrated in the social
element of our club, providing support,
guidance and aspiration to our
younger/newer members and friendship to
those not interested in pursuing the sport
competitively.
Additionally, we have a supportive and
active Whatsapp, wishing people happy
birthday, well wishes when poorly and
supporting in difficult times. We also share
resources via Whatsapp, such as events
and activities that we are involved in at
work and otherwise. Whatsapp is a great
resource to keep in touch and supports
people to feel connected and have a sense
of belonging.|
