ANNUAL REPORT TO THE CHARITY COMMISSION 2024-2025

I regret that there is again nothing to report because the Foundation has, to date, been unable to establish a UK bank account. Although it does not appear to be a legal requirement, all of the banks that we have approached have demanded that at least 50% of the trustees are UK-based but, because the original trustees were chosen because of their long-term dedication to Mensa’s aims rather than their citizenship, we currently have only one trustee who is a UK citizen and resident in the UK. The intended focus of the Foundation’s work will be in developing regions and countries. If the Charity Commission is able to assist in this respect, we would be very happy to discuss the options.

We are also exploring options as regards the number of trustees and approached possible trustees but have not yet arrived at a conclusion. We believe that we are nearing a resolution of this issue. There have, however, been no changes made as at the time of this report.

With no UK bank account as at the end of the period applicable to this report, the Mensa International Charitable Foundation has been unable to begin its work and there have, therefore, been no activities carried out and no income received or expenditures made. There are, therefore, no accounts or financial report to submit for this period.

We are, however, optimistic that we may be able to report next year that we finally have been able to establish a UK bank account and finally begin the work of the foundation
