Summary of the main The 1887 Alfred Sharp Bingley Educational Trust was registered with the achievements of the charity Charity Commission as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) on during the year 27.07.2022. At a meeting as Trustees, of the City of Bradford MDC’s Regulatory and Appeals Committee, on 27.10.2022, the trustees considered the options for the process for providing grant funds to institutions and groups in Bingley, including a Community Chest model and a Transformation Fund method. It was agreed that the meeting should be adjourned to 24.11.2022, to allow Council officers to respond to questions from the trustees. At a meeting as Trustees, of the City of Bradford MDC’s Regulatory and Appeals Committee, on 24.11.2022, the trustees resolved: (1) That the Trust Grant be allocated within the Bingley Improvement District. (2) That the six schools, which includes, Myrtle Park Primary, St. Joseph Primary, Trinity All Saints Primary, Priestthorpe Primary, Beckfoot School and Hazelbeck School, within the Bingley Improvement District be invited to bid for up to £30,000 for projects. (3) That other Educational Institutions, within the Bingley Improvement District be invited to bid from the discretionary fund for local projects. (4) The 1887 Alfred Sharp Bingley Educational Trust Panel be established, comprising, Bingley Ward Members, Bingley Rural Member, representative from Bingley Town Council and a Non-Voting Ward Officer. (5) That the terms of reference to be drafted which sets out the objectives of The 1887 Alfred Sharp Bingley Educational Trust Panel; and (6) The 1887 Alfred Sharp Bingley Educational Trust Panel submit a report annually to the Regulatory and Appeals Committee. At a meeting as Trustees, of the City of Bradford MDC’s Regulatory and Appeals Committee, on 15.12.2022, the trustees considered the application forms drafted by the Ward Officer Bingley and Baildon Wards and resolved: (1) That the maximum funding amount for the discretionary element be set at £5,000, for any applications over this amount, matched funding is encouraged and the applicant/organisation be asked to contact the Ward Officer for Bingley and Baildon Wards to discuss the application further. (2) That there be two application rounds for the discretionary element and that applicants be advised that repeat applications will not be encouraged. No financial grants were awarded by The 1887 Alfred Sharp Bingley Educational Trust in 2022-23.
