This year has been a much more settled one, with no floods or burst pies and we even had some good news.

We have obviously kept up with the programme of Pavilion maintenance (£611.35) and the refurbishment of the Pavilion has finally been completed with both the Ladies and Gentlemen’s toilets being totally overhauled (£2588.48), both of these expenditures were considerably reduced by making use of our team of volunteers.

We are now pleased to record that the Pavilion is in very good order.

Our annual Bonfire and Firework display was again a huge success, the weather proved to be a bit difficult on the night, but our wonderful team of volunteers worked tirelessly to make the evening a safe and profitable one.

The good news that I alluded to at the beginning of this report did come at a cost to the village, this cost being the building of 100 new houses. The Developer involved had to make S106 contributions to the parish, these covered a number of areas. Under the heading Green space/Sport & Recreation the Playing Field Trust were awarded £52,222.55, this money is being held by the Parish Council and as such does not show up on our accounts. This total figure was awarded under a list of sub-headings.

Childrens Play (Play Area) £23,794.75 Outdoor Sports (General) £14,383.73 Cricket Pitch £5,367.41 Football Pitch (General) £8,676.66

This has allowed us to undertake a major improvement programme to our Play area. Phase 1 is underway, but is being held up by the weather. Phase 2 will be determined by what finances are available after Phase 1 has been completed. We are also taking the opportunity to replace some of our older ground maintenance equipment, this will be offered to Sports Clubs and Organisations that are in much need of it. We have also used turf care professionals to carry out much needed specialist tasks on the field (deep spiking for aeration, scarification and weed and feeding).

We again received our annual grant from the Parish Council, which was for £3000, this will be used in conjunction with the S106 allocation on the Play Area project.

Total revenue for the year was £13,726.80, with expenditure of £13,163.12, giving us a balance of £17,415.32.
