Our ov¢rall aim is to provide m¢dical, ¢du¢ational. and g¢nernl well-being tr¢atm¢nt. advi¢¢. and
upport to people from underprivileged backgrounds. primarily in India. who do not haiee (he means to
pay for Irealmeni. This support can make a huge impacl and improve ihe quality ol life for individuals.
fainilies. and their communiiies.
India has a high presTrlence of avoidable blindness and basic medical needs. We have been doing
mcdical Camps in India sinc¢ 2017. mainly in Punjab. W¢ also l¢arnt ihrough our work iii Panjab and
oth¢r parts of India that ihc r¢a50n pcopl¢ do not com¢ foN'ard for tr¢at]n¢nt Is du¢ to a lack of
education, money and support from their communities. More recenily. we have stsrted sponsoring
local primary schools and bringing gyms to a sthndard for beiler wellbeing.

Finding volunteers in the UK and ihe couniries where we opera* who will support us with fundraisin

countries where we operale.

benefit when reviewing our aims and objectives and in planning our future aciivities.
ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFoR￿lANcE
Volunteers
Volunteers come From many ditTereni backgrounds and professions and give up their time. energy and
holidays freely by choice without any financial gain.
Recruiting volunteers in the UK w'ho are going to support ￿ with fundraising and also take the

accessible and well-organi5ed.
A Crucial part of the planning, process involves identifyingi suilable service providers and
facililic%. This includcs ho%piials, local Irai)5POrt links. and a registration silc, typically a
school buildingy or coinmunity hall. with ample ouidoor spa¢¢ as ivell &$ rooms for iiiedical
creening and consulialioi)5. The.se facilities accoinmodate a range of specialists. iiicludiiig
doltors, opticians, dentists, and audiologists, among other healihLare providers.
Local volunteers are also recruited and trained to support both the planning and execution of
the camp. Their knowledge ofthe area and communily is invaluable in ensuring the cainp
runs smoothly and elyicienily.
The Har Sewa Medical Trust. comprising execulitre trustees and i'olunleers. carefully
coordiiiates the logistics for all i'isiting i'oluiiteers. Thi5 iiicludes traiwel arrangements from
airports, train slalions, and coaLh services 10 Ihe campsite. For volunteers travelliiig froin the
UK, the journey typically ini'oli'es a iiine-hour flight to Paiijab, followed by approximately
half a day's travel by Lar lo reach the camp location. To lacilitate smooth operatioiis, the teani
generally slays together in one ￿'11lage. allowing for daily morning and evening debriefings io

The February 2024 camp was held in the villagc of MoTanwali. Panjab. India. with the
support of World Cancer Care. As the latesi inilialive in Panjab. this camp achieved several
significant outcome5=
Cancer Screening and Awareness: World Cancer Care followed up with treatments
and tests for cancer patients. including mainmography. pap smears, PSA tests, boile
scans, and blood cancer evalualions. Educational lectures were conducted in groups to
raise awareness about all fomis of e￿iCer, and free liternture was distributed io
attendees.
Patieiit Reach.. Specialist doctors from well-known local hospitals attended the Camp,
seeing an estimated 6.300 Paiienls over Ihe duraiion of ihe ei.'ent.
Laboralory Tests.. Moderi) Medical Lal)oralory. Mediscaii Lab, and Panam Nursing
College Lab conducted over 2.100 blood tests, providing critical diag]iostic support.
F.CCI Screening.. More than 600 palienLS received free F.CG ie818.
Eye Care.. Over 1.550 patients receii'ed eye tests. resultiiig iii 695 patients being
prescribed corrective gylasses, 1,460 receii'ing free eye drop8, and 220 diagnosed with
ataracls. ot whom 158 paticnls uiidcrwenl su¢¢cssful surgcry.
Chronic t)i8ease Deieciion: 80 paiienis were diagnoged with diabetes, 150 with high
