Trustee Report for Financial Year 1 December 2024 - 30 November 2025
1.The Executive team continue to exercise their responsibilities in ensuring the efficient operation of the sports ground and its facilities.
2.A successful fundraising event was held at the sports ground involving families from the village. Further events are planned.
-
Promotion of the sports ground to the the local community including the school, scouts, walking group and other societies/groups is continuing.
-
Involvement with the Parish Council has been very positive although the grass cutting service continues to be provided at some cost to GSG.
5.The major users of the sports ground have had very successful years. Langton Green FC have increased their bookings for junior football teams. The tennis club has increased its membership and has improved facilities.
-
The grounds were affected by flooding once again which impacted all sporting activities. Some work has been undertaken on the ditches to alleviate the effects.
-
Some rewilding of the border and riverbank areas has been undertaken by Wild Groombridge ( a conservation group) which we hope will help with flooding issues whilst improving the natural habitat.
8.The car park continues to be a major asset for the community, its maintenance remains under constant review.
- We look forward to another successful year in 2025/2026.
