Royal Norfolk Show:NBKA was able to promote the importance of honey bees to general public and encourage purchase of bee-friendly plants. Beginners Course for 2023 fully subscribed, as is that for 2024. We were delighted to be awarded the Trade Stand Award for the most Effective Conservation or Environmental Exhibit NBKA Centenary Celebrations: We were able to finance a day of excellent speakers to encourage local beekeepers and celebrate the Associations activities. Beekeeping courses have been held with the practical elements taking place at the new Association Apiary. This is a very important service we are able to offer those who want to take up beekeeping as well as those wanting to improve their own skills and knowledge. Demonstrations and talks have taken place throughout 2023 to encourage beekeeping. Schools and children’s club talks are given by beekeepers to promote awareness of the importance of bees in our world. Storage at the training apiary enables bulk-buying of essential beekeeping items. This helps and encourages NBKA members to continue beekeeping. Swarm collection service |
