The Chairn￿l and Honordry Treasurer are responsible for preparing the Report of the
Trustees and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom
A¢￿untIng Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice).
The law applicable to charities in En8land and Wales requires the Trust to prepare financial
statements for each financial year which 8ive a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the
clwity and of the income and exp￿￿lture of th¢ charity for that p￿10d. ID preparing these

The Trust is responsible for keeping proper accounting records that disclose with re&sonable
accuracy at any time the financial position of the Tn￿ and enable it to ensure that the
f￿anCIal statements comply with the Charities Act 2011. as amended by the Charities Act
2022. It is also reswnsible for safeguarding the assets of the clwity and hence for taking
reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of frdud and other irregularities.
The TnLSt is r¢sponsible for the maintenance and integrity of the charity and financial
inforn￿tIon I￿luded on the chaTity's section of th¢ Worshipfill Company of Water
Conservators website.

New tn￿le¢s. chosen from Liverymen of the Worshipfvl Company of Water Conservators,
are appointed from time-to-time to fill vacancie4 by invitstion from the Court of the
Worshipful Company of Wafrr Conservators. No other individual or other body h&s power to
apwint new truslees.
New trnstees are inducted into the Tn]st and work closely with existing trustees. Tnths are
given literdture issued by the Clwity CommisAon setting out their responsibilities. Trustees
are gÉven th¢ opportiJnity to attend conf￿￿nCeS and training NtaIn1￿ to the roles and
responsibilities of trustees.
The general management and thiillstration of the Tn￿t are vested in the appointed officers.
All trustees are volwrteers and no remuneration or L￿fits were provided to them.
Risk Assessment
A Risk Assessment has been conducted. The Trust h&$ appropri& arrangements in place for
the preparation of financial statements. the keeping of proper accounts and records, the
safeguarding of assets and the detection of frdud. The Trust tecognises its responsibilities to
both members and beneficiaries in matters of data security (GDPR), safeguarding and general
conduct and regularly reviews its procedures and takes professional advice where required.

Related Party Transactions
The t￿￿te¢S confinn that to the best of their knowledge and belief there We￿ no financial
transactions undertaken by the T￿￿ in the period ended 30 June 2025 in which the trustees
or any personlcompany connected with them W directly or indirectly, a material interest.
Objects of the Trust
The Objects of the Trust, &8 set out in its incorporation documents are:
(i)
the relief of pjverty of persons generally and in particular of those persons
engaged in water Conservatio￿ the water industry and environmental
manag¢metJL especially th¢ trcathjent of water and waste water, and their
dependants:
the advancemenl of education of persons engaged or desiring to engage
in activities connected with the water industy or environmental management
or elsewhere in industy and commerce generally and in particular by:_
(i)
providing or ￿ntributing towards th¢ provision of all r¢quisit¢ facilities
in connection therewith;
(2)
(li)
awarding to such persons intending to be enga8¢d in the water industy,
environmental management or clsewhere in industy and commerce
g¢nerally scholarships and exhibitions al any educational establishment
approved by the Trustees;
awarding prizes in connection with the examinations of recognised
education authorities"

assisting in general or industrial or commercial education any persons
in necessitous circumslances who are preparing to enter the water
industy, environmentsl managemenl ¢ommer¢e or industy generally
by the provision of books the payment of fees and the d¢frayment of
expenses of travelling or Maintenan￿ or by such other means &s the

(3) the promotion of research in the field of water technology and conservation or
otherwise for the advancement of the education of persons engaged or desiring
to engage in the water industy or environmentsl management PROVIDED
THAT the useful results of such research shall be disseminated for the public
benefit and without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing the provision of
fmancial support and facilities for those engaged in such research and the award
of bursaries and priz£s in connection therewith.

Nothing in this constitution shall authorise an application of the property of the CIO for the
purposes whtch are not CR￿ltable in a¢¢ordance with section 7 of the Charities and T￿￿tee
Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and section 2 of the CEwities Act (Nortbern Ireland) 2008.
Delivery of Public Benefit
The Trust confums tbat it h&$ adopted the Cknity Commission's general guidance on public
benefit when reviewing the T￿￿t.'S aims and objectives and when planning future activities.
Facilities
The TTh￿t does not own any facilities.
Financial Reserves Policy
The financial reserves ￿l1¢Y Is to develop the Fund to SUPEX)rt: (i) a medium-terni
programme of bursaries (including travel bursaries) at UK univasities. (li) the in]provement
of water and envÈronment contenl in academic and training courses, and (Ill) to provide
fll)ancial support for cases of poverty.
Financial arrangements - progress
The TTUSt was constitut¢d as a Charitable IncOr￿rated Organisation on 18 July 2022. The
Tr￿st has been fully operational in the year 2024-25.
Financial Statements
The fi1￿Cial statements of the Trust comply with statutory requirements and the
requirements of the charity's governtng instrl￿ent and include any additional inf0m￿tIOn
required by law. At the year*nd there were no Commitn￿nts regarding on-going
expenditure. incomplete projects or obligations not met which were not provided for in the
accounts. No fund w&8 in deficit at 30 June 2025.
Financial Review
The sources of receipts are Gift Aid donations from members of The Worshipful Company of
Water Conservators and others: dividends from investment funds. interest from bank deposits
and contributions received from individual donor organisations wishing to support the work
of the charity.
Total receipts in the year to 30 June 2025 amounted to £34,351. In additio￿ £7,000 was
transferred from The Water Conservation Tn￿. Payments in the period totalled £67,852,
maRnly in support of the Trust's University Bursary Programme for Masters studies in water
and enviromnental managemenL and for the Schools and Environtnent Education
Programme. Details are sel out in the Financial Staten]ents.
