The Chainnan and Honorary TreaSu￿r are reS￿)nsIble for preparing the Re[￿ of the
Tn￿CeS and th¢ fllwicial stalements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom
Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice).
The law applicable to charities in England and Wales requires the Trust to prq)are financial
statements for each financial year which give a ttue and fair view of the state of affairs of the
charity and of the income and expenditure of the charity for that p¢riod. In preparing these

The Trust is responsible for keeping proper accounting retords that disclose with reasonable
accuracy at any time the financial rK)sition of the Tnjst and ¢nabl¢ it to ensure that the
fmancial statements comply with the Charities Act 2011, amended by the Charities Act
2022. It is also responsiblc for safeguardiDg the &ssets of the cI￿lty and hence for taking
reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

infomiation included on the charity's section of the Worshipful Company of Water
Conservators websi*.

Trustees
New trustees, chosen from Liverymen of the Worshipful Company of Water Conservators,
re appoinied from time-to-time to fill vacancies, by invitstion from the Court of the
Worship￿1 Company of Wat¢r Cons¢rvators. No other individual or other bcmly has power to
appoint new trusttts.
New trustees are inducted into the Tn￿ and work closely with existing truste¢s. Tn￿CeS are
giv¢n litrrature issued by the Charity Commi&sion setting out their resp)nsibilities. Trustees
are given the OPPOTtunity to attend conferences and training ￿tainIng to the roles and
responsibilities of tn￿ceS.
The general management and admiillstration of the TnLSt are vested in the app)inted officers.
All trustees are volunteers and no remuncrntion or benefits wcrc provided to them.
Risk Assessment
A Risk Assessment has been conducte& The Trust has appropriate arrangements in place for
the preparation of fmancial statement& the keeping ofproper accounts and records. the
safeguarding of assets and the detection of frau& The Trust recognises its responsibilities to

both members and beneficiaries in matters of data security (GDPR), safeguarding and general
conduct and Tegularly reviews its pr￿edureS and tsk.es professional advice where required.
Related Party Transactions
The In￿teeS confirn) that to th¢ best of their knowlcdge and Ixlief there were no financial
transactions undertaken by th¢ Trust in the period ended 30 June 2023 in which the trustees
or any personlcompany connected with them hrf directly or indirectly, a material interesL
Objects of the Trust
The Objects of the TW &8 set out in its inCor￿)ratiOn documents are:

the relief of povcrty of persons generally and in particular of those persons
engaged in water conservation, the water industy and environmentsl
managemen¢ especially the treatrn￿t of water and waste water, and their
dependants.
the advancement of edUc￿lOn of persons eng8ged or desiring to engage
in activities connected with the water industy or environmental management

Nothing in this constitution shall authorise an application of the property of the CIO for the
purposes which are not charitable in accordance with section 7 of the ch￿itieS and Trustee
Inveslmeni (Scotland) Act 2005 and section 2 of the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008.
Dellvery of Publlc Benefft
The Trust confwms that it has adopted the Charity Comtnission's general guidance on public
benefit when reviewing the Tn]st's aims and objectives and when planning activities.
Facllltles
The Trust does not own any facilities.
Flnancial Reserves Pollcy
The financial reserves FK)licy is to develop the Fund to support: (i) a medium-terni
programme of bursaries (including travel bursaries) at UK universitie& (ii) the improvement
of water and environment content in academic and training courses. and (iii) to provide
financial SUp￿rt for cases of tK)V¢rty.
Flnanclal arrangements - progress
The Trust was constituied as a Charitsble IncorFK)rated Organisation on 18 July 2022. In the
period between 18 July 2022 and 30 June 2024, the Trust's Officers have set up and tested
banking a￿geMents, obtained the consent of HMRC to recover Gift Aid. and set up
investment accounts with Fund ManageTS CCLA and Schroders, to allow Trust operations to
begin on l July 2023. This has proceeded well, as set out in the fllwi¢ial slatements for
2023-24.
Financlal Ststements
The financial ststemenls of the Trust comply with statutory requirements and the
requirements of the charity's governing instrument and include any additional infonnation
required by law. Al the year-end there wett no commitments regarding on-going
expenditure, incomplete projects or obli8ations not met which w¢r¢ not provid¢d for in the
accounts. No fund Vi'&S in deficit at 30 June 2024.
Flnanclal Revlew
The sources of receipts are Gift Aid donations from members of the Worshipful Company of
Water Conservators and other& dividends from investment fund4 inter¢si from bank deposits
and contributions received from individual donor organisations wishing to support the work
of th¢ charity.
Tofaj receipts in the year to 30 June 2024 amounted lo £28.9J 5.04. In addition. £700248.30
was transferred from The Water Conservation TTr￿ £40,000 from the sale of investments
and an unrealised gain of £10.038.04 from the investments. Payments in the period tota]led
£68,252.46, mainly in supwrt of the T￿￿t'S University Bursary Programme for Masters
studies in water and ¢nvirotunenthl managemenL and for the Schools Educ&ion Programme.
