Parn 1.20 The Church has run services each Sunday momlng to whlch anyoné is very welcome. These services are advertised by word of mouth and also on social medla, Inviting people lo come along. These Sunday services are for the spirStual wellbeing of church members as well as the presenting and discussing of ideas regarding the Christian faith. The Church runs a small number of special services at key Christian festivals such as Easter and Chrfstmas, somellmes partnerfng with the Parish ch￿￿h. Through these events the chU￿h is seeklng Interesting and innovallve ways to communicate Ihe Ideas of the Christian faith lo both members, regulars and those new to th8S8 Ideas. In 2022 the Church began a new project called 'Forest Church,. This project runs seNIc8 èach monlh that sèeks to learn about and encounter God through refiectton on nature and creatlon. Thls is quite different to a traditional church service and has proved popular wlth some in the l¢xal communlty who do not attend traditional church. Tha Church also provides ongoing spirilual and praclical care for ils member5 and friends as well as anyone in the l(Kal community in certain circumstances such as moments of ne￿. The Church has engaged wlth the local community In various practi￿1 ways in response to perceived needs within the community as well as wider society. The Church runs a Toddlers group that proves to be a cherished time each woek for the parents, grandparents. chlldminders. and young ones who attend. The group is benefici81 both for the young on8s who g81 to soclalise al key points in their personal development and 8180 for Ihe adults, typically mums, for whom the group offers a key point of social contsct, friendship, and support. The Church had run a soclal club for oider folk called KIKS. Typically. this club provlded the opportunity lo soclallse and play games. Sometimes a meal was shared. This ¢lLtb proved another key Frf)Int of s¢xial activity for some in the local community who were olheTwise lonely. This club was put on hold during summer 2022 due to the need to find new volunteers. However, during Ihe cost-of-living crisis, towards the end of 2022, the Church, with the help of volunteers from the Parfsh church, started to run a Warm Spa￿. Thls proie¢l is in line with many other similar pros8cls currenlly run by local churches and Community cenlres. specrfically in response lo the cost-of-living crises, for the benefll of local communilles In need. The Warm spa￿ opens each Friday lunch lime from 12-2pm. It offers a free lunch and hot drlnks in a wam environment.11 is open to anyone however it has proved very popular wlth a number of older folks from surrounding local communities who have cherished the opportunity lo meet socially and share a meal with friends. The Wam spa￿ is initially planned to njn from 6th January 2023 until 31st March 2023. Following the Warm Space the church has run a Lunch Club once a month. This continues to provide a social space to share a meal with friends, for those who appreciated the warm space. Slnce October 2023 the church has been lrialling quarterty All Age services. On these Sunday mornings the service format has been adapted to make it accesslble for chlldren and adults together. The goal is to be able to invite new people into church, especlally local families with young hildren. Thè church also provides financial support and well as encouragemenl and prayer to selected rnission partners in different parts of the worfd. These partners work for the benefll of people and communilies in often very deprived areas or incredibly diffi()Jlt situations. The church currently supports proiecls in Ukralne as WBII as Tearfund (a charity working In many dlfferenl places) and Release Internatlonal (an organisation working with persecuted Chrislians). The church also gives a small amount to Ihe Baptist Union's 'Home Mission, fund which" supports small local baptist churches withln the Unlon.
