## **TRUSTEES’ REPORT** 

The trustees present their report and accounts for the year ended 31 MAY 2025. 

## **Objectivities and Activities** 

Zion Worship Centre's core objectives centre around fostering spiritual growth, community outreach, and providing holistic support to its members and the wider community. Activities are designed to: 

- Promote Christian worship and discipleship. 

- Offer pastoral care and spiritual guidance. 

- Facilitate community engagement through charitable initiatives. 

- Provide educational and social support programs. 

- Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all. 

## **STRATEGIES DEPLOYED TO ACHIEVE OBJECTIVES:** 

To achieve these objectives, Zion Worship Centre employs a multi-faceted strategy, including: 


- **Regular  Worship  Services  and  Bible  Studies** :  Providing  consistent  opportunities  for spiritual growth and fellowship. 


- **Pastoral Counselling and Support Groups** : Offering individual and group support for emotional and spiritual well-being. 


- **Community  Outreach  Programs** :  Organising  food  banks,  clothing  drives,  and  other initiatives to address local needs. 


- **Educational Workshops and Seminars** : Conducting programs on topics such as parenting, financial literacy, and personal development. 


- **Volunteer Engagement** : Actively involving members in various activities to foster a sense of community and service. 

## **OVERVIEW OF ACTIVITIES COMPLETED IN THE YEAR:** 

This past year, Zion Worship Centre successfully completed several key activities: 

- Consistently held weekly worship services and bible studies with strong attendance. 

- Expanded the food bank program, serving an increased number of families. 

- Organised  a  successful  community  outreach  event,  providing  school  supplies  to  local children. 

- Hosted a series of workshops on financial planning and stress management. 

- Established a new youth mentorship program. 

- Improved the online streaming of worship services, increasing accessibility.

## **PLANNED ACTIVITIES FOR THE YEAR:** 

Looking ahead, Zion Worship Centre plans to focus on the following activities: 

- Enhancing the youth program with additional resources and activities for example we have our first Youth servo on the 6th of April 2025 and the youth are extremely excited. 

- Launching a new program focused on supporting elderly members of the community hence our family day’s popularity in August 2025. 

- Expanding the reach of the community outreach programs by establishing partnerships with other local organisations, we have our debut conference running firm the 11th April to the 13th of April 2025 which will involve other ministries. 

- Organising a series of workshops focusing on mental health and well-being. 

- Investing in technological improvements to enhance online accessibility and communication... 

Planning a community wide festival to promote unity and fellowship for all to Enjoy, know each other within the community, building meaningful hence living a better life 

## **On reserves** 

The board of trustees is committed in building up sufficient unrestricted funds to enable it to meet its essential charitable objectives in emergencies. 

As a result, the charity’s unrestricted reserve for the end of this financial year stands at £2,731

## STATEMENT OF TRUSTEES’ RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Company law requires the trustees to prepare financial statements that give a true and fair view of the organisation’s financial activities during the year and its financial position at the end of each financial year. 

In doing so, the trustees are required to: 

- Select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently 

- Make judgements and reasonable and prudent judgements 

- State whether applicable accounting standards and statements of recommended practice have been followed, subject to any departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements 

- Prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it’s inappropriate to presume that the organisation will continue in operation for the foreseeable future. 

The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records that disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time, the financial position of the company and enable them to ensure that the financial comply with applicable laws, regulations and the trust deeds. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the organisation and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities including money laundering.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S REPORT TO THE CHARITY TRUSTEES OF ZION WORSHIP CENTRE 

_Year ended 31 May 2025_ 

_I report on the accounts of Christ Winner Church for the year ended 31 May 2025 which are set out on pages 6 to 9_ 

## _Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner_ 

_As the charity trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts: You consider that the audit requirement under section 43 (2) of the charities Act 1993 (The Act) does not apply.  It is my responsibility to state on the basis of procedures specified in the general directions given by the Charity Commissioners under Section 43 (2) (b) of the Act, whether particular matters have come to my attention._ 

## _Basis of independent examiner’s report_ 

_My examination was carried out in accordance with the general directions given by the Charity Commissioners.  An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records.  It also includes considerations of any unusual items  or  disclosures in the accounts, and seeking  explanations  from  you as trustees concerning any such matters.  The procedures undertaken do not provide all evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently, I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts._ 

_Independent examiner’ statement_ 

_In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:_ 

_1) which  gives  me  reasonable  cause  to  believe  that  in  any  material  respect,  the requirements:_ 

_a) to keep accounting records in accordance with section 41 of the Act; and_ 

- _b)  to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and to comply with the accounting requirements_ 

_2) to which in my opinion, attention should be drawn to in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be_

_These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the special provisions for small companies under Part 15 & 16 of the Companies Act 2006 and with the Financial Reporting Standard for smaller Entities (effective April 2008)._ 

_For the Year ending 31 October 2016 the charity was entitled to exemption from audit under section 477 of the companies Act 2006_ 

_The members have not required the company to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006_ 

_The directors acknowledge their responsibility for:_ 

_i) Ensuring the company keeps accounting records which comply with Section 386; and_

- _ii) Preparing accounts which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the company as at the end of the financial year, and of its profit or loss for the financial year, in accordance with the requirement of section 393, and which otherwise comply with the requirement of the Company Act relating to accounts, so far as is applicable to the company_

_Notes to the Financial Statements_ 

_For the year ended 31 May 2025_ 

## _1. Accounting policies_ 

- _a) Basis of accounting_ 

_The financial statements are prepared under the historic cost convention and include the results of the charity’s operations which are described in the trustees’ Report and all of which are continuing._ 

_The financial  statements  have  been  prepared  in  accordance  with  accounting  standards, the Statement of Recommended Practice “Accounting and Reporting by Charities” and the Companies Act 2006._ 

_The charity has taken advantage of the exemption in Financial Reporting Standard No1 from the requirement to produce a cash flow statement_ 

## _b) Statement of trustees Responsibilities_ 

_The standard constitution of the charity requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs and of the surplus or deficit for that period.  In preparing these financial statements the trustees are required to:_ 

_Select suitable accounting policies and then apply them seriously_ 

_Make judgements that are reasonable and prudent;_ 

_Prepare the financial statements on a going concern basis_ 

_The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy  at  any  time  the  financial  position  of  the  Charity.   They  are  also  responsible  for safeguarding the assets of the Charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities_ 

## _c) Fixed assets valuation and depreciation_ 

_Tangible fixed assets for use by the charity are valued and stated at historic cost less depreciation, as determined by trustees after appropriate advice. Depreciation is provided at rates calculated to write off the cost or valuation of fixed assets less their estimated residual value over their expected useful lives on the following bases:_

_d) Income_ 

_Voluntary income and donations are accounted for as received by the charity. The income from rentals and trading is accounted for on an accrual’s basis. Fundraising income is shown gross, with the associated costs included in fundraising costs. Interest receivable is from ZION WORSHIP CENTRE’s bank current account._ 

_e) Value added tax_ 

_Value added tax is not recoverable by the charity and as such is included in the relevant costs in the Statement of Financial Activities._ 

_f) Charitable expenditure_ 

_Charitable expenditure includes all expenditure related to the organisation’s activities. This includes all  expenditure  related  to  the  organisation’s  own  activities,  audit,  accountancy  and  other professional fees._ 

_g) Liabilities_ 

_Liabilities are recognised by the charity as they are incurred._
