Achievements and Performance

Cylch Meithrin Teulu’r Tyle opened in September 2022 with 4 children 2 – 3 years old registered.

At that time the Cylch was only open from 9.00 a.m. until 11.00 a.m. as we were awaiting confirmation from CIW that the Cylch had passed the criteria for registration.

On 11[th] November the CIW registration was confirmed, and the Cylch could now open from 8.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. and could accept children from 2 – 4 years old for pre-school provision and wrap around.

In January 2023 the Cylch was accepted for registration with Flying Start and they began paying for 12 places. However, the first Flying Start children did not enrol until April 2023.

By the end of March 2023 there were 15 children enrolled with the Cylch.

In addition to fees paid by parents, the Cylch receives funding from the Welsh Government Childcare Offer and also Flying Start funding.

In 2022 – 2023 the Cylch received £16,000 in grants from Mudiad Ysgolion Meithrin, a grant of £4500 from Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council and a grant of £500 from Cronfa Glyndwr.

From September 2022 until the end of March 2023 the Cylch employed 2 members of staff – one was the Cylch Leader and the other a Nursery Nurse. The Cylch also employed another member of staff to cover the lunchtime period.
