During 2022-2023 trustees have: Taken possession of the building and undertaken the necessary repairs to secure the premises and reconnect the utilities. Established links with the Gospel Standard Library regarding loan of artefacts for the proposed Heritage Centre. Established links with the Christian Heritage, Rowley Regis to gain an understanding of the issues involved with the management and operation of a heritage centre. Made a successful bid to the Providence Chapel Croydon Charity for a grant/donation towards the restoration of the building. |

Para 1.20 | The main achievement of the Charity during this first reporting period was securing the Rochdale Hope Chapel (a Grade II* listed building) for the future benefit and use of the public. Allied to this was beginning on the restoration of the building as part of the preparations for the development of the Rochdale Hope Chapel Heritage Centre. The Centre will be a record and testimony to the impact that nonconformists had on Rochdale and the surrounding area in the 19thand 20thcenturies particularly in supporting those in poverty and being a voice for social injustice. |
